Stereotypes about British people.

Every culture has their own stereotypes and of course it’s unfair to judge and
categorise everyone from Britain into certain categories, but some of the
stereotypes are certainly true and take their origin from real behaviour of Brits.
The United Kingdom is a sovereign state located off the north-western coast
of continental Europe. With a total area of almost 250,000 square kilometres, the
UK occupies the major part of the British Isles archipelago and includes the island
of Great Britain, the north-eastern one-sixth of the island of Ireland and many
smaller surrounding islands. It is also the world's 7th largest island country.
The Royal Observatory, Greenwich, in south-east London, is the defining point of
the Prime Meridian.
 Brits often get burnt to a crisp on holiday.

Because of the lack of glorious sunshine and bad weather, it’s no wonder so many
Brits burn so easily. Consequently, when Brits go on holiday they usually neglect
to believe that factor 50 was invented for a reason. Brits usually call each other
glowing when, in fact, they mean ‘You’re as red as the tomato in my caprese’. For
that reason it is always easy to spot a Brit on a vacation.
 Brits are used to complaining all the time.
The Brits are often, somewhat unfairly, accused of being huge complainers. When
you set aside weather and football conversations, complaining is actually down to
a minimum and in fact, like every other culture in the world, there are equally as
many enthusiastic and positive Brits as there are negative and whiney ones. It
completely depends on the person that you talk to.
 Brits are slightly confused about their citizenship and nationality.
In Britain there are several types of citizenship and some nationals who are not
citizens at all. In fact there are six different types: British citizens, British subjects,
British overseas citizens, British overseas territories citizens, British overseas
nationals, or British protected persons. It is no surprise, that Brits themselves are
confused about thair citizenship and nationality.
To sum up, I think that it is certainly unfair to judge citizen of UK according to
those stereotypes, but it is quite nice to prepare yourself for how a typical British
person behaves so that you know not only what you’re in for, but also how to
respectfully behave when you’re surrounded by the British culture.
