Roles and Responsibilities of Public Relations Committee – CBIT (A)

1. To publicize all events connected in the college.

2. To communicate to all important dignitaries/ officers/ persons about Student and staff
achievements, in consultation with other committees.

3. To propose innovative methods of publicity

4. To make provisions from time to time, to publicize the main and preliminary events of college
events in the website of CBIT, in coordination with the web committee of CBIT.

5. To co-ordinate with the core committee and any other committee for any other requirements and
necessary steps as per the emerging and dynamic situation.

Presents information to the public about the club, Rotary, its history, goals,
and accomplishments throughout the Rotary year, especially during Rotary
Awareness Month (January)
     o   Works with the media to secure proper publicity for the club's activities
     o   Works with club committees that are conducting service activities to
publicize successful club projects through the local media
     o   Creates a list of media contacts and updates it regularly
     o   Responds quickly and accurately to media inquiries about club activities
     o   Advises the club president on public relations matters
     o   Communicates with key organizations and leaders within the community
     o   Keeps the district public relations chair informed of larger stories that
may generate interest beyond the local community
     o   Works with the magazine committee to keep RI informed of newsworthy
club projects

Roles & Responsibilities of Media and Public Relations Committee

Public Relations Committee is the mouthpiece of CBIT. It is solely responsible for all external
communication from the institute. It aims to position and popularize the brand CBIT on a
variety of platforms. Over the years, the team has created a legacy for itself and the
institution. Due to its relentless pursuit, today CBIT enjoys a favourable image in the eyes of
the outer world and is using it well to its advantage.
The committee has earned a series of achievements in the past one year, which include
newspaper articles, numerous corporate interviews, extensive coverage of events on social
media and improved relationships with print, television and digital media.

Activities
The committee is responsible for extensive coverage of all college events. It sends press
releases to print and digital media, and posts updates on social media about all campus
activities, blood donation camps, entrepreneur meets and student achievements and
institute performance.
The committee is also responsible for interviewing guests, industry leaders, celebrities, and
lecturers on the latest global trends.
 
Provides Platform to Students
The committee plays an instrumental role in registering the presence of the students of
CBIT in the
media. The students are provided with opportunities to voice their opinion on contemporary
issues in
leading newspapers and MBA forums.

Effulgence , Official Magazine of CBIT


The annual magazine provides a platform to students, academicians and the corporate to
come together and share their insights, opinions and experiences, and to discuss
management, leadership and other contemporary issues.The latest issue, Effulgence 5.0
was launched in June 2019.

 
Social Media
CBIT has a prominent presence across several social media platforms such as LinkedIn,
Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. It also holds its own blog. The committee
introduces various ways to engage with the audience through Facebook
interactions/comments, twitter retweets, YouTube Interactions/ Comments, and blog
comments.

 
Major Events Covered 
Guest-Lecture-and-Industry-Interaction: The committee covers all the guest lectures and
industry interaction sessions conducted by eminent industry stalwarts and other such major
events happening around the campus. They interact and interview the dignitaries at every
corporate and cultural event.
Leadership Summit 3.0, HR Summit 4.0, International-Conference on Digital
Economy and Karmaanta- the annual management fest of CBIT has been the mega-
events of the academic year 2019-20.
The role of Media and PR committee is to foster community relations with external
stakeholders through several media relation activities. It accomplishes this through its
regular corporate newsletters , engagement with the print media and by facilitating
institute’s online presence across various platforms. The Media and PR committee
manages internal communication by reporting events, happenings and achievements to
the administration, faculty and student community.

PUBLIC RELATIONS CELL

Creation of the Cell


The Public Relations Cell (PR Cell) acts as a liaison between the institute and the outer world.  PR
Cell also works towards building the brand for the college through engagement with media houses,
promotions on social media, and helping Aurora aspirants take a wise decision with regards to
admissions.
PR Cell is also responsible for all kinds of interaction with the new batch of students every year before
and after the commencement of the semester.

Objectives
The main objective of this PR Cell is to provide a robust interface for the institution and its various
functions and programs with all stakeholders, and the disseminating of information to the media /
public as and when required. The PR Cell is committed to informing about the quality and diversity of
the learning environment at the institution, the level of education, and the dedication to finding
practical solutions to meet the challenges students face today.

Selection procedures
The faculty and students gives their choice for acting as coordinators in the Public Relations Cell.
Based on the choice given by the faculty and students, the College Academic Committee and in
consultation with Heads of the Departments select the coordinators.

Tenure
The tenure of the selected coordinator and members is for one academic year.

 Identification of guests, eminent personalities to visit the campus
 Identification of student volunteers for coordinating events and extension programs of the
college
 Program design for various events
 Preparation of invitation letters and thanks letters for guests
 Facilitate networking programs by means of organizing conclaves, guest lectures, workshops
and other such interactive events.
 Helping the new students with the queries they have regarding the institute prior to and after
admissions
 Maintenance of records
