Working title – “I don’t know you anymore”

Genre – feature length film/social realism/teen coming of age

Duration – 2 minutes

Target Audience – 14 to 25 Male / Female etc.

Outline – A 17 girl lives with her mum, but is mostly alone as her mum works long
hours. She has a best friend that she’s always been close to but has a chance to be
popular and finally be noticed by other kids in her college, but she changes herself in
order to fit in. Except that’s not who she is and everyone around her can see it. She
has changed for the worst and lost relationships with her mum, best friend and herself.
The 3 girls that befriend her, aren’t all they seem and being ‘popular’ isn’t how she
thought it would be. She never Pretending all gets too much.

Character breakdown – Mollie - is a shy girl with a small friend group, she enjoys
listening to music and reading books. She is white British and is 17 years old.

Grace – Mollies best friend, also 17 and at college. She enjoys going out with friends
and concerts. She is white British.

The girls (Millie, Taylor and Ruby) – all 17 and at college but never attend. They
would rather bunk school and meet friends, drink and smoke at stay out way too late.

Visual elements – I am going to use natural lighting for my movie, I may use a ring
light in case the weather doesn’t go as planned, the camera movements will be
panning and a range of different shots.

Audio elements – I will use diegetic/ Foley sounds for music and chattering in the
background. By using the Foley sounds, it will help the audience understand that the
film genre as social realism/teen coming of age as the music will be modern and the
other sounds will help set the scene.

Rationale – I chose to give my film the genre of social realism with codes and
conventions of teen coming of age. I chose this as I’m still in school and I have
easy access to the setting of a school for some scenes which are in school. Another
reason I chose this genre is to show the reality for a lot of people and also what
it’s like being a teen girl in modern times

Primary and secondary research – Netflix and Prime video to watch films based
around my genre to gather ideas on what I would base my film on and what codes and
conventions I will feature in my film.

Requirements & resources - for my film I will need a camera to film on and
potentially a ring light to use If lighting is too dark.

Constraints and contingency – no animals are going to be harmed in the making

of this film. Any of the cast could fall ill due to a cold or even covid 19 or another
illness. We will be following restrictions to prevent this.
Legal and ethical considerations – I will be using music in my film which may
use a copyright claim.

Budget – my film will cost nothing to make. Some things that may cost money is
travel and food for the cast.
