Our solar
People have watched the night sky since ancient times. They saw our
moon and five ofthe planets in our solar system Mercury, Venus, Mars,
Jupiter and Saturn. For a long time, people thought that the stars and
planets all revolved around Earth. Then astronomers discovered that
Earth and the other planets orbit the sun. Astronomers discovered Uranus,
Neptune and Pluto much later with the help of telescopes and
mathematics. Galileo Galileo was the first person to study the universe
with a telescope.
