Autobiography
My name is Ava Rose Dressendofer, I was born and raised in Roselle Park NJ until fifth
grade when I moved to Hampton NJ. My birthday is in January but ironically I don't like the
cold. I’m currently a student at Voorhees Highschool and Hunterdon County’s Polytechnic
institute where I am currently studying to become an elementary school teacher. I had just got
accepted into Stockton University’s teaching program in August so I’m really excited to attend
and become an Osprey! Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always known that teaching was the job
for me. I grew up in the dance industry, my parents ran eight separate dance studios so I was
constantly surrounded by and teaching little kids. Watching them flourish and grow as a dancer
made me complete in a way. My visions for dance routines and productions were unfolding right
in front of my eyes through these amazing kids. It would be unethical for me to continue being a
dance teacher for the rest of my life. So I turned to something else I thoroughly enjoyed which
was school. I’ve grown up playing teacher and loving the idea of learning. If you think about it,
it's the foundation of literally everything on this earth. If I could help students on the dancefloor
prosper, I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to help students accomplish their
goals as their school teacher. The idea that I could change a students life for the better in the
education field is one of the main reasons why I’m so ambitious about teaching.
