Megan

Gregoire was in a rural second grade classroom for the semester. Megan planned lessons
that aligned to state standards. She included accommodations in plans and implemented the
accommodations. Megan used age appropriate learning activities to keep students engaged in
learning. She engaged students through Turn & Talk, Student as Teacher, and higher order
questioning. She employed direct instruction, guided practice, discovery, collaboration, and
independent practice. She used Gradual Release effectively, which allowed her to scaffold the lesson
to students needs. Megan used technology effectively. She used formative checks to teach to student
needs. Megan used authentic and traditional assessments. Megan taught a unit on Fairy Tales. She
dressed as characters and used Read Alouds. Students created their own fractured tales. Megan
gave clear and concise directions to all students.

Megan established a positive rapport with the students and mentor. She respects the students and
the students respect her in return. She demonstrated enthusiasm. Transitions were smooth.
Management was maintained. Megan initiated a management strategy to redirect students which
was highly effective. Megan took on a leadership role in the classroom.

Megan used acceptable standard written and oral English. Her voice projection and tone are
appropriate.

Megan accepted constructive criticism and tried to implement suggestions. Megan is dependable,
creative, cooperative, and responsible. She attended professional development, staff meetings, and
IEP meetings. She communicated with parents using the SeeSaw app, emails, and weekly post.
Megan has demonstrated her ability to be an excellent teacher. I highly recommend her.
