Allocated topic: There is a significant relationship between food quality and customer
satisfaction in dining restaurants.

1. Develop alternate and null hypotheses for the given topic. You must develop directional
hypothesis from your given topic. 5 Points

Ans:

Hypotheses:

Null:

Null Hypnotists(H0): There is no significant relationship between food quality and customer
satisfaction because in restaurant business along with food quality customer service, location,
behavior of the staffs also matters. (Non-directional.)

Alternate:

Alternative hypothesis(H1): Food quality and customer satisfaction has some sort of
significance if the only target of the restaurant is to give quality food. (Non-directional.)

Hypothesis (H2): There is a significant amount of relationship between food quality and
customer satisfaction. (Directional.)

Ans: Food quality appears to be recognized as a basic aspect to please consumers in the
restaurant. Nevertheless, quality of services and satisfaction studies are also ignored. The key
purpose of this research was to explore how food quality is viewed in mid- to high-end restaurant
satisfaction and behavior. This research has attempted to classify the features of food-related
characteristics that are important in enhancing enjoyment and increasing the intention to revisit.
With a technique of systemic equation modeling, this research demonstrates that overall food
quality greatly impacts consumer satisfaction and behavioral intentions and shows that the
interaction between food quality and customer satisfaction is mediated. Managers therefore
should pay attention to the main qualities of food quality, which create loyalty from consumers
and increase return visits in the restaurant industry. Pecotic et al. (2014) carried out an analysis to
classify variables that affect consumer loyalty and identified a major effect on customer
satisfaction on furniture comfort, sound, board conditions, lighting, and style. Jaini et al. (2015)
explored the link between customer service and the maximum standard of fast-food restaurants
and established positive relationships Level of operation, quality of food and consumer
experience. Atmospheric consistency may not have a direct association with consumer service,
according to their observations. The effect of five dimensions has been explored by Abdul and
Zainal (2016). (Value perceived, emotional price, monetary price, price of behavior Reputation
and reputation) on user loyalty. A key finding for their emotional, monetary, and financial
influence of the research was highly important. On consumer loyalty behavioral prices. In a
report that has been completed. In university refectories, facilities, and refectories by Saglik et al.
(2014) It has been observed that the standard of hygiene has a substantial connection with
Satisfaction of clients. Tat et al. (2011) looked at the impact of the dimensions of service quality
(tangibility, openness, empathy, empathy, Reliability, assurance, and the level of service
perceived by clients) Over the satisfaction of students in university fast-food restaurants. Their

studies culminated in the adoption of the conclusions that all five Dimensions provide a huge
effect on happiness. In the relationship between customer satisfaction and behavioral intentions,
Canny (2014) studied the mediating function of dining experience and concluded that food
quality, service quality and the physical atmosphere have major relationships with customer
satisfaction. In university restaurants in Portugal, Saraiva et al. (2011) attempted to evaluate
variables that influence customer loyalty. They illustrated that in stimulating consumer loyalty,
the menu, food quality, price, waiting time, personnel, hygiene quality and internal and external
atmosphere are crucial factors. In a study of a family restaurant in Indonesia, Surapranata and
Iskandar (2013) examined the relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction and
found that tangible, empathy, responsiveness, efficiency, and assurance are essential factors.
Customer delivery. The impact was studied by Shariff et al. (2015). On consumer loyalty, the
level of operation and food quality. They have Service quality and food quality have been found
to be significant.

3. What sampling technique would you use for the topic allocated to you and why? Explain
your sampling procedure in detail please. For your topic, among the four types of data,
which type of data collection is the most important and which type is the least important
for your research? Justify your answer. 10 points

Ans: By analyzing the literature review I would like to choose the Cluster Sampling because in
the cluster sampling we got the idea about all specific individuals. Such as, our whole population
is categorized into clusters or divisions and the clusters are then picked at random. Both cluster
components are used for sampling. Information such as age, ethnicity, position etc. are used to
identify clusters.

Moreover, in the sampling procedure we got different kind of components such as, gender, age,
region, ethnicity etc. By analyzing all these components, I can easily get the idea from the
customer is satisfied or not. Additionally, as the food quality is an independent variable, and the
customer satisfaction is the dependent variable. For that reason, its very simple to analysis the
whole idea about the customer satisfaction and the food quality in the dining. As we know
different age of people and the different regions people have the different choice in the food for
that reason, everyone will not be the satisfied as like other.

The most important type of data collection methods: Along with that, I choose the survey and
questionnaire method for collecting my data. Questionnaires, as we understand them here, are
stand-alone data collection devices that would be distributed either by mail, mobile or online to
the survey subjects. They were one of the most common data collection techniques.

By doing the survey and the questionnaire method, it will be very easy to collect the data along
with that it helps to reduce the cost. Questionnaires offer researchers an ability to specifically
organize and formulate the data collection strategy. Respondents should even take these

SEC:03
questionnaires at a reasonable time and accept the responses at their own rate. Moreover, reach is
potentially infinite. If the medium allows for it, the questionnaire will enter any corner of the
planet.

The least important type of data collection methods: The focus group discussion the least
important method in this research. Because the collaborative benefits of an interview are brought
to the next stage by putting together a deliberately selected audience for a moderated
conversation on the topic of the study. Identifying groups of people who are essential to the
research and encouraging them to come together simultaneously for the session can be a
challenge. And if one of them turns out to be exceptionally persuasive and dominant, groupthink
would still be the victim of participants in a focus group. This will bury the multiplicity of
thoughts that otherwise might have occurred. The interviewer of a focus group discussion needs
to be on guard to avoid anything from happening.

4. Assume that you have collected data to test the hypotheses. You do not have to run SPSS
software to answer this question. But, in your script, answer the following:

a) Which SPSS test would you have to run to test your hypothesis? Be specific. Is it
regression, correlation, one-sample t-test, paired sample t-test, independent samples
t-test? Describe the process of running the test in a diagram.

Ans :

I will choose the regression model for testing the hyphothesis because through testing the
hyphothesis I can predict the outcomes by analyzing the independent variable and dependent
variables. Additionally, I can assume that how much changes have been happening to change the
other. Such as, I can predict if independent variable change so that it can be measured that how
much dependent varibale will be changed.

In the below I would like to show the diagram of the SPSS test;

b) After you have chosen your test, assume that you have already run the test. Now,
you can hypothetically assume any SPSS output here. For example, if you have run
correlation test to test your hypothesis, you can hypothetically assume any
correlation output here (+1, +.02, 0, -0.5, -1 or any other feasible figure. Do not run
SPSS software.

Ans: From my analysis, it is found (assume) that r = 0.84 and p = 0.001. This indicates that there
is a strong, positive relationship between the customer satisfaction and the food quality which is
significant at 0.05. Therefore, I reject the null hypothesis and conclude that There is a significant
amount of relationship between food quality and customer satisfaction.

c) Once you have assumed the result, explain your answer, and tell us whether you
accept or reject the null hypothesis and why. Explain all the relevant values that
were taught in class with regards to your SPSS test and analysis. Remember,
explanation for each component of your test carries separate marks.

Ans:

Here, (assumed)

Y (Dependent variable) = customer satisfaction

X (Independent variable) = Food quality

The slope of the best fit line = 0.84

Y-intercept = 40.59

Regression Model:

Y = 0.84*(X) + 40.59

Decision:

The analysis shows that the coefficient of determination, R2 is 0.7015, which indicates that
“Food quality” (the independent variable) can explain 70.15% of the change in “customer
satisfaction” (the dependent variable). I have also found a p-value of 0.001, Which is less than
0.05 means that the result is significant at 5%. Therefore, we reject the null hypothesis and
conclude a significant relationship between food quality and customer satisfaction; this is a good
regression model.
