Hi, I'm Rosa Parks.

I wanted to tell you that I was a major figure in the civil rights mufment in
the United States, especially for refusing to give up a seat to a white person and moving to
the back of the bus in Montgomery,
On December one of ninetine fifty five, this was frequently cited as the spark of the
mufment, and was recognized as "the first lady of civil rights."
In ninetine seventy nine , the NAACP awarded me further recognition, the Spingarn Medal,
and the following year I received the Martin Luther King Award.
I Rosa Parks was inducted into the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame in ninetine eighty three
for may accomplishments in promoting civil rights.
After a life of fighting racism, I received the Gold Medal of the United States Congress in
nintine nineri nine
The Rosa Parks Library and Museum was baptized in my honor in November tUENI. There,
