Business Case Study: eBookStore

Read the case study and and answer the questions that follow.

The ABC College has realised that there is a need to support its students regarding reselling their
used textbooks. As a result, the Teaching and Learning with Technology Department at ABC College
has agreed to provide funding for the development of an online platform. The online platform will
be available to the traditional books stores within the college and students can use it to resell their
used textbooks. To make the platform noteworthy, the college recommended that the online
platform be developed by the ABC College students registered for the web development and
business application modules.

This online platform should meet all the electronic commerce (e-commerce) basic principles. It
should also provide traditional bookshops, such as JUTA, Van Schaik, Credo and Protea, an
opportunity to sell new books, but most importantly to resell used textbooks within the student
community. The e-commerce web application will be named eBookStore. The student development
team will be responsible for planning, designing, developing and implementing and supporting the
eBookStore. From inception, the student development team will take full responsibility for ensuring
the delivery of the eBookStore.
