Referring to the statement issued by the Ministry of Higher Education on 29 April 2021
regarding the movement of public university students in conjunction with the Hari Raya
Aidilfitri celebration, it is informed that students who are currently doing practicum/ industrial
training are subject to the rules adopted by their respective employers/ organisations during
the practicum period.
Pertaining to this matter, students must comply with all Standard Operating Procedures
(SOPs) as similar as the public set by the National Security Council (NSC) about the current
inter-state travel rules.
Students who are currently doing practicum (off-campus or on-campus, UUM) are not
encouraged to travel across the states in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration
to avoid the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic which is still at the alarming level, except for
emergency cases.
In addition to that, CUIC is concerned that the practicum students will not be able to
complete all the credit hour requirements and practicum course requirements within the
stipulated period if the students' health status is affected as a result of such inter-state
travels.
Along with this decision, and taking into account the views of other UUM authorities, CUIC
will NOT issue any letter of release/ permission for the purpose of inter-state travels for the
reason mentioned above.
