Abstract

The purpose of this capstone project is to address and solve the problems of the
Island Petroleum Corporation in its manual system of sales and monitoring of petroleum
supply in the Isabela depot. Because this kind of system is prone to mistakes and
errors, that is why the island petroleum corporation intends to upgrade and find solution
for this in order to fix existing and future errors. Our team intends to develop an Island
Petroleum Corporation Sales and Monitoring system with Online Reservation to make
the sales transaction and monitoring of petroleum supply computerized. The team used
Microsoft Studios C# and ASP.net as our programming language for this proposed
project. The Sales and Monitoring application will have three main modules which are
the Admin or Manager module, Auditor Module and Cashier Module. These modules
contain the registration of the clients, managing and monitoring of petroleum supply,
point of sales and generating of reports. The online reservation only focuses in the login
of clients and the reservation of petroleum products. In order for us to make this
research, the team went to and conducted an interview on the depot about their daily
task and transactions, our team used only two research instruments, which is a
questionnaire to gather data and identify the problem of the depot. Second is the
Internet to get some information on how we can make this research and to help us have
an idea on how to build this system. All of the data that the team gathered and collected
is significant and a big help in making this Thesis. In conclusion, by making this
research documentation and during the whole work, our team really learned really
learned how to work with a project and how to analyse system, gather requirements and
solve the problems while you are meeting them.

The team gathered data for how the proposed project will be built by conducting
an interview to the respondent. Our team have identified that the Island Petroleum
Corporation depot is using a manual system on their sales transaction and monitoring of
supply in Isabela depot, with this kind of old manual system it is prone to mistakes and
errors, and we also knew that the depot cannot hold many trucks congesting inside its
premises, so the team decided to develop a Island Petroleum Corporation with Online
Reservation to address the problems of the entity. This study would be beneficial to the
IPC depot by making their manual input of sales and monitoring of supply into a newer
computerized sales and monitoring system, in addition to this is a web based Online
Reservation. This system would lessen the workload of the staffs and will make it easier
for them in their sales transaction, managing and monitoring of supply and printing of
receipts and also to store the data of their daily sales to its database, generating daily
and monthly reports and storing of the soft copy of daily receipts for compilation of
receipts and afterwards will be sent to the IPC main office. The online reservation is
also a part of this proposed system, where clients can reserve petroleum products in
IPC depot, this feature is also significant to the organization wherein it helps control the
client trucks coming inside the depot to avoid the congesting of trunks inside the
premises.
