After you watch the video answer the following questions. Use any voice
recording software to record your answers. Use will and first and second
conditional in the answers.

ANSWERS:
 What are the problems derived from drinking bottled water? Mention two
problems at least.

1. One problem is that when the oil is extracted and used for bottle
production, a lot of energy is wasted in the preparation and distribution of
the bottles.

2. The planet gets a lot of plastic bottle waste if people drink a lot of bottled
water. When plastic bottle waste is burned, it releases pollution that is
toxic to the environment.

 What is the difference between bottled water and drinking water?

If the water is treated, it is processed and sold by a company that charges for its packaging
and is bottled water.
If the water can be drunk by people without any problem, this water is potable.

 Describe the process involved in manufacturing a plastic bottle.

The companies obtain raw materials that nature gives us to make bottles, then the
companies manufacture them, when the companies have already manufactured the bottles,
they fill the bottles with treated water.
When the water has been bottled, the bottles are distributed to people, chain stores and
others.
Once the empty bottles are collected, if they are not thrown away, they will be used to
manufacture new products, but of lower quality.

 What happens with the plastic bottles after we throw them away?

If plastic bottles do not end up in landfills for many years, they end up in incinerators, which
is where the toxic pollutants are expelled.

 What solutions can be implemented to solve this problem?

people would drink drinking water from their own home by campaigning that bottled water is
the same drinking water that we drink, everyone could carry their own water bottle and it
would have to be extreme cases where they cannot carry water from their home. Increasing
prices in this product and insisting the government to support the campaigns by passing
them through the media.
 Is this problem common in your community? What does the community do to
deal with it?
It is something very common since many people in my neighborhood have water
filters in their homes and fill a bottle of water every time they go out. Even when
they are at home, they fill thermoses with water in their fridge and keep
themselves hydrated, it is worth mentioning that also when they take their pets out
or simply go out to do sports, they do not need to make this unnecessary
purchase.

 Will you drink bottled water again? Why, why not?

Several months ago, I stopped drinking bottled water.

I have several reasons and one of them is that I spend less money if I do not drink bottled
water and I also think that it is not worth spending money on it if I can drink tap water from my
home.

 What will you do in the future to reduce the number of plastic bottles used in the world?

I will encourage my family, friends and others not to drink bottled water, I will campaign about
drinking bottled water and water from home and also campaign against the use of plastic.
