Miller Type: Steering gear R4V 460 Place, date: Valletta, 4.- 14. 01.2007 Check both pump units: 501.2007: ‘The starboard pump unit was opened for inspection: The flexible gear rim between Electric motor and hydraulic pump was completely destroyed. The hydraulic pump (shaft seal found leaking) was demounted from the unit and opened for inspection: piston cylinder (item 2) found on the valve plate side totally worn in and cannot repaired any more. A overhaul pump (A2FS5 25°) of the ship spare parts installed into the unit. The pump (A2KS5 25°) is not available any more. The unit can be modified by the new pump type (A2F 56 40°), delivered with rebuilding kit. ‘The 4/3 way directional valve was demounted of the control plate to check the pre- control valve insert (nuzzle 9mm) and the main piston also demounted, both found well. ‘The pump house and hydraulic filter cleaned. 7,01.2007: The portside pump unit was opened for inspection: ‘The unit already found fixed by a new hydraulic pump A2F $6 40°, but has the wrong connection plate without suction valve (not Hatlapa delivery). ‘The power line inside the pump unit found only fixed by welded “water pipes” and paper gasket flanges . In the suction line was installed any unknown suction valve. ‘The pump and installation has to be changed to classification proved style. New hydraulic fittings, hydraulic pipe and suction valve ordered to fix the pump connections proper. 2 new hydraulic pumps A2FS6 40° (original design), delivered with rebuilding kit, ordered by the owners, delivery time about 8 weeks. 8.01.2007: The portside pump unit inspection: The hydraulic pump was demounted from the unit and opened for inspectio cylinder (item 2) and the valve plate found in well condition. The 4/3 way directional valve was demounted of the control plate to check the pre- control valve insert (nuzzle 9mm) and the main piston also demounted, both found well. ‘The pump house and hydraulic filter cleaned. : piston 11, 01,2007: Portside pump unit: The new hydraulic fittings, hydraulic pipes and suction valve arrived. Suction- and power pipe new installed. Normalerweise wird das Agaregat direkt auf der Rudermaschine nontiert, bei beengten Platzverhdltnissen kann es jedoch auch unabhangig von der Rudermaschine im Ruderma- schinenraum, oder evtl. auch auserhalb montiert werden. iier- bei ist von der Werft ein einfaches Schiffbaufundament vorzu- sehen. Die hydraulische Steuerung besteht aus einem Vierwege-Lungsventil, welches von einem elektromagnetisch betdticten Vierwege-Pilotven- til gesteuert wird, sowie einem hydraulisch vorgesteuerten Druck- begrenzungsventil. Im Leerlauf flieSt ein Steuerdlstrom bei X Uber das Pilotventil in den Tank (¥). Dadurch bleibt der Hauptkolben des Druckbegren- zungsventils gedffnet, und die gesamte, von der Axialkolbenpumpe gefSrderte Ulmenge, flieBt in den Tank bei 1. Wird jetzt durch ein Steuermandver ein Magnet des Pilotventils erregt, so flieft der Steuerdistrom (x) nicht mehr in den Tank, sondern zum Druckkolben des Vierwege-Langsventiles. Wenn einige cer: U1 den Kolben in die gewiinschte Richtung gedriickt haben, baut sich in der Steuerdlleitung ein Druck auf, welcher den lauptkolben ar Druckbegregzungsventil verschliest. Ar Vierwege-Langsventil ist durch die Betétigung des kolbens der Weg zur Rudermaschine frei ceworéen. Durch diese Anordnung der liyéravlik wird erreicht, daS im Leer- lauf mit sehr niedrigen Driicker. (Druckverlusten!) gearbeitet wird. Dadurch wird eine unndtige Erwirmune ces liyéraulikéls, und damit verbunden eine frilhzeitige Alterung, vermieden. Ein Pumpenacgregat faSt ca. 80 Liter Hydraulikél. Auftretende Leckverluste im System werden durch einen mindestens 0,5 m Uber der hdchsten Stelle ces Hy@wauliksystems angebrachter Sachsaugehochtank ausgeglichen. Das Hyrauliksystem ist so angeordnet, da8 2 véllig unabhangige hy@raulische und mechanische Ruderanlagensysteme entstehen, die jeweils fir sich alleine das halbe Rudermoment aufbringen kénnen. Diese beiden Systeme sind dber einen Wegeventilblock derart miteinander verknipft, da im Normalfall beide zusammen das zum Legen des Ruders erforderliche Moment erbringen. Im Falle eines Rohrbruches oder anderer gréferer Siverluste im gesanten Hydraulikkreislauf sprechen die in Ulausgleichbehilter installierten Schwimmerschalter an und geben ein Signal in den SAFEMATIC-Schaltschrank. Von hier aus wird die Ruderanlage automatisch in die beiden Einzelsysteme getrennt in der Art, daB die defekte Seite auf By-Pass geschaltet wird und die intakte Seite mit dem 2ur Verfigung stehenden halben Maximalmoment in der Lage ist, das Schiff bei verringerter Geschwindigkeit manévrierfahig zu halten. This steering gear is provided with HATLAPA's safety device SAFEMATIC complying with the highest requirements of the latest IMCO regulations. The steering gear is so arranged that it has 2 completely independent systems (each consisting of a hydraulic and a mechanical part), either system being in a position to achieve half the rudder torque. Both hydraulic systems are so interconnected by means of a directional control valve block that in normal operation both systems together produce the torque necessary for laying the rudder.
