pressure is not an indication of hose condition or failure of reinforcements.
NOTE: Hoses that are not electrically continuous should be retired from service.
CAUTION: Hoses that are not electrically continuous present a significant sparking or internal arc over
hazard.
CAUTION: High pressure steam or high pressure compressed air can be hazardous if hoses are restricted
or clogged.
Depending on overall condition, it may be possible to repair hoses damaged in service. The repair of
polypropylene hoses requires specialized knowledge and procedures.
NOTE: All repairs should be undertaken by trained and authorized personnel.
The description of a hose or end fitting material, as “suitable” does not ensure that the hose complies
with any regulations or operating requirements governing the handling of the chemical or the use of
the hose.
A hose conveying a chemical having an oxidizing effect should be checked for internal discoloration
particularly if contamination is not permissible. Accord International, Inc. reserves the right to change
specifications and ratings without notice.
SS3161 corrugated hose is made from strip metal. The strip metal is formed into tubes and the edges are inert-arc butt
welded. The tube is then corrugated. Corrugated hose is pressure tight and suited to continuous flexing or vibration. Close
pitch is standard.
The flexibility of corrugated metal hose is due to the spring-like quality of the corrugations. It will return to its original posi-
tion when bending forces are removed. However, if the hose is bent beyond its minimum recommended bend radius, the
hose will take on a permanent set. The SS3161 hose is designed to correct problems involving: vibration, temperature
variations, misalignment, pipe line expansion and contraction, offset motion.
When products are required to conform to a particular regulation, specification or application this should be stated on the
inquiry/order.

Correction Factors for Elevated Temperatures
of Type SS3161 & SS31612 Hose Assemblies
As the operating temperatures of a hose assembly increases the maximum working pressure
decreases. Pressure ratings in the data sections of this catalog are valid at 70°F. For oper-
ating temperatures in excess of 70°F the maximum working pressure must be decreased
according to the Correction Factors chart list below.
Correction Factors Chart
Apply to pressure rating for elevated temperatures.

DRY - DISCONNECT COUPLINGS
Dry-disconnect couplings are used in the petroleum industry, transportation, marine operations, tank farms
and inplant applications. When you are moving valuable or hazardous fluids, the last thing you need are spills.
Spills can be costly and dangerous to people and the environment. Standard seals are Viton, and can be easily
replaced with Chemraz 500, Kalrez, or any other style of material needed for service.

3020-15 15mm kets. The unique construction and properties of Style 3020 has made it
3020-20 20mm 810721 the outstanding tank lid packing wherever chemical and solvent cargoes
3020-25 25mm 810722 are carried.
3020-30 30mm
3020-35 35mm 810723 It was developed in response to a growing demand for a universal tank
3020-38 38mm 810724 lid packing, as a result of the dramatic increase in carrying of hazardous
3020-40 40mm 810725 bulk liquid cargoes.
3020-50 50mm
3020-20-10 20 x 10mm Meets your demands. Contains no asbestos. Provides an efficient seal
3020-20-15 20 x 15mm 810726 that is resistant to all chemicals likely to be carried. Retains its resilience
3020-25-10 25 x 10mm over many years. Available in both square or rectangular section to suit
3020-30-20 30 x 20mm 810727 most tank lids or hatches. Meets all international regulations. Capable of
3020-35-15 35 x 15mm “on-site” welding into a customized endless ring.
3020-35-20 35 x 20mm
Unique construction. The center of 3020 Chemares is a hollow core of
3020-35-25 35 x 25mm 810728
special rubber for maximum chemical resistance. Around it is a protec-
3020-40-30 40 x 30mm 810729
tive layer of PTFE tape which is then surrounded by a thick cushion of
3020-50-30 50 x 30mm
defibrillated polypropylene that has corners constructed from the same
3020-50-40 50 x 40mm
materials braided into cords. Over the packing is a double layer of heavy
3020-55-40 55 x 40mm
duty PTFE tape with a final outer protection of braided PTFE yarn.
Made to suit your needs. Style 3020 is very flexible and will deform or expand to fill slight irregularities in tank
or lid grooves. It is available in square or rectangular section as required and can be supplied in long length
coils; ready cut to length; or in customized ready made rings to match your lid specifications.

No. HB - HOSEBUN
Hosebuns increased productivity and reduced hose costs. The curvature prevents hose collapse by supply-
ing recommended curvature of the hose, allowing an uninterrupted flow of material through the hose. Design
features include: moisture drainage troughs that readily allow the hose to breathe, and friction ribs to prevent
the hose from slipping. Reduces premature hose failures, thus increasing the life of the hose and decreas-
ing the cost of replacement. Offers fast implementation with no special tools and low ongoing maintenance.
Reduces fire and explosion hazards with non-sparking, non-conductive, static-free construction. Slings are
easily replaced when worn or damaged. Increased awareness with high visibility safety red colors. Increased
control during rigging changes and adjustments. Reduces risk to personnel working under or near a hoisted
hose.
Hosebuns are manufactured to meet the standards of a comprehensive quality control program and the stan-
dards of independent regulatory bodies. With a reduced chance of costly cleanup, the liabilities of a liquid
terminal operator are significantly minimized.
Hosebuns properly selected for the job and correctly installed, provide years of maintenance-free service.
Air movers, or air horns, are used wherever there is a need to disperse fumes, move air into confined spaces,
cool men working in elevated temperature conditions, or cool machinery or products with a blast of directed air.
Common applications are found in refineries, chemical plants, utilities and co-generation units, metal fabrica-
tion plants, paper and pulp plants, shipyards, the marine industry and the steel industry.

The free flow ratings listed below are based on tests to AMCA standard 210. Under identical testing situations,
these Air movers equaled or exceeded the air flow of competitively manufactured air movers.
Refurbishing of Texas Pneumatics, Carling, Lamb, Mine Safety and Coppus air movers consists of replacement
of the complete horn, replacement of handle, sandblasting and painting of the base, chase inlet threads and
boxing.
REPLACEMENT HORNS
Horns can be fabricated for Texas Pneumatics, Carling, MSA and Coppus air movers.
Use for general ventilation in any location where compressed air is available onboard marine vessels. Portable
gas-freeing fan, with standard Butterworth cast aluminum mounting. Suited for ventilation of tanks, process
vessels, or other confined areas for the removal of hazardous fumes or contaminated air from welding, sand-
blasting and other operations.
* Note: PA-12 & PA-20, has matching heavy duty inlet and exhaust flanges allowing the unit to be reversed
for either ventilating or exhausting applications.
Use for general marine ventilation in any location where water is available. Portable gas-freeing fan, with
standard Butterworth cast aluminum mounting. Use for exhaust. The high volume capacities of these blow-
ers make it easy to handle gas freeing, ventilating, drying or de-icing application aboard ships. Powerful water
motor with stainless steel shaft. Supplied with 1-1/2” brass cam & groove couplers.
Tornado electric ventilators are lightweight, but ruggedly built for use of ventilation of tanks, manholes, process
vessels and similar confined spaces, as well as for cooling/drying applications. Electric motors available in
either TEFC (Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled) or Explosion Proof (XP), makes these ventilators lightweight and
can be easily transported from job site to job site. Tripods and vertical adapting equipment is available upon
request.
When fitted with optional inlet duct adaptors, the Tornadoʼs high static pressure capability makes these units
ideal for exhaust applications. Single and dual adapters are available. A dual adapter is available with two
exhaust ducts for removing welding fumes or toxic vapors from two locations at once.
Description:
The unit is an axial fan comprising of a 305mm axial impeller driven
by a Francis Turbine water motor. Construction is of stainless steel
with exception of the motor which is of aluminum alloy.
The fan case is a one piece stainless steel sheet fabrication, with
flanges on each end by which the fan can be clamped to the stan-
dard 318mm deck opening.
A 12.7mm mesh guard is fitted to the fan inlet and outlet. Blade tip
clearance not below 2.5mm at any one position. The fan can be
carried by the handle mounted on the outer case.
