a) I think that humans will continue to evolve and has not stopped
yet. Our ongoing evolution has many medical and health
implications. Scientists have found that the majority of genes that
have undergone recent evolution are associated with smell,
reproduction, brain development, skin pigmentation and
immunity against pathogens. Natural selection occurs in response
to environments—and our environment is changing. The relative
importance of natural selection in shaping our species might be
weak at present, but it has the potential to become stronger again
in the future. Human bones are thinner and less dense relative to
other primates. Our diets changed with settled agriculture,
physical activity changed, and our skeletons, in exchange, became
lighter and more delicate.
