Using packet tracer in addressing

:

1- We connet the figure .

The cables used are :
• Straight : between switch, pc and router, switch.
• Cross : between switch, switch .
• Serial : betweeen the two routers .

2. We Put IP address for each devices as the following:
CHECKING WHETHER IT WORKS
STEPS:-

Step 0: construct basic topology as shown in above figure Step 1:

Connect PC0 to the switch0 a. Connect PC0 to Fast Ethernet
port Fa0/0. Configure PC0 to use the IP address, subnet
mask, and gateway according to the IP address table.
Step 2: Connect PC1 to the switch0

a. Connect PC0 to
Fast Ethernet
port Fa0/0.
Configure PC0
to use the IP
address, subnet
mask, and
gateway
according to the
IP address table.
Step 3: Connect PC2 to the switch1

a. Connect PC0 to
Fast Ethernet
port Fa0/0.
Configure PC0
to use the IP
address, subnet
mask, and
gateway
according to the
IP address table.
Step 4: Connect PC3 to the switch1

a. Connect PC0
to Fast Ethernet
port Fa0/0.
Configure PC0
to use the IP
address, subnet
mask, and
gateway
according to the
IP address table.

Step 5: switch0 to the Router0

a. Connect switch0 to Fast
Ethernet port Fa0/0.
Configure switch0 to use
the IP address, subnet
mask, and gateway
according to the IP address
table.
Step 6: Connect switch2 to the Router1
a. Connect switch2 to Fast
Ethernet port
Fa0/0. Configure
switch2 to use the IP
address, subnet mask,
and gateway according
to the IP address table.
Step 7: Perform basic configuration of router R0

a. Connect pc ports Fa0/0 to interface Fa0/0 of router R0

b. Establish a terminal emulation session to router R0 from PC0,1.

c. Enter privileged EXEC mode, and then global configuration mode.

Router#configur
e terminal
d. Configure the router name as R0. Router(config)#hostname R0

e. All addresses are based on above table

Step 8: Perform basic configuration of router R1

a. Connect pc ports Fa0/0 to interface Fa0/0 of router R1

b. Establish a terminal emulation session to router R1 from PC2,3.

c. Enter privileged EXEC mode, and then global configuration mode.

Router#configur
e terminal
d. Configure the router name as R1. Router(config)#hostname R1

e. All addresses are based on above table

Step 9: Perform an initial configuration on the

switch0 a. Configure the hostname of the switch
as Switch0.
Switch>enable
Switch#configure
terminal
Switch(config)#hostna
me Switch0
Step 10: Configure the switch management interface
on VLAN 1 a. Enter the interface configuration mode for
VLAN 1.
Switch1(config)#interfa
ce vlan 1
b. Set the IP address,
subnet mask, and
default gateway for the
management interface.
Switch1(config-if)#ip
address 20.1.1.4
255.255.255.0
Switch1(config-if)#no
shutdown
Switch1(config-if)#exit

Step 11: Perform an initial configuration on the

switch1 a. Configure the hostname of the switch
as Switch1.
Switch>enable
Switch#configure
terminal
Switch(config)#hostna
me Switch1

Step 12: Configure the switch management interface

on VLAN 1 a. Enter the interface configuration mode for
VLAN 1.
Switch1(config)#interfa
ce vlan 1
b. Set the IP address,
subnet mask, and
default gateway for the
management interface.
Switch1(config-if)#ip
address 40.1.1.4
255.255.255.0
Switch1(config-if)#no
shutdown
Switch1(config-if)#exit
