G80 TECHNICAL DATA Protective Gloves

Nitrile Chemical Resistant*.

Description
G80 nitrile gloves are the ideal chemical-resistant gloves to protect people's hands from fuels,
solvents and grease, with an excellent level of grip, dexterity and comfort.

Applications
The following are examples of common applications and uses G80 nitrile protective gloves. It is very important to know
the process and the chemical hazards to which the person is exposed in order to define the proper glove use. The
chemicals and their respective concentrations must be identified. To determine the performance of the glove against
different types of chemicals, refer to the "Chemical Resistance Guide for Jackson Safety* Protective Gloves":

• Chemical Processing
• Automotive and Aerospace Degreasing • Automotive Assembly and
• Machinery with Oils and/or Coolants Painting
• Cleaning and General
Maintenance

Features

Nitrile
The glove is made with a 15-mil nitrile layer and has a length of 13". This synthetic material offers excellent levels of
protection against fuels, solvents and grease and is ideal for people who are sensitive to natural latex. The inside of the
glove has a cotton lining that provides greater comfort and makes it easier to put on and take off the glove. The fingertips
and palm are textured with a diamond-shaped pattern to give more grip in both wet and dry conditions. The rest of the
glove is smooth to avoid accumulation of chemicals that may degrade the glove over time.

Regulatory Information and Symbols

Jackson Safety* G80 nitrile protective gloves are regulated under the European Standard EN 420:2003
- General Requirements and Test Methods for Protective Gloves. This standard specifies product
requirements, packaging information, symbology, design, manufacture, sizing, comfort and storage.
The glove is approved to the EN 420:2003 standard, which is evidenced by the CE (European
Conformity) mark pictogram followed by the code of the external certifying laboratory (0321).

Jackson Safety* G80 nitrile protective gloves are regulated under the European standard EN 374:2003 -
Gloves for Protection against Chemicals and Microorganisms. This standard establishes the chemical
penetration and permeation tests that the glove must pass in order to carry the chemical resistance
pictogram. This pictogram must be accompanied by a code of 3 letters, representing 3 chemicals
corresponding to a list of 12 defined by the standard, for which a permeation time greater than 30 min. has
been obtained. The glove is approved by the EN374:2003 standard where the letter A= Methanol, J=n-
Heptane, K= Sodium Hydroxide 40%.

The glove passed the penetration test, which is a pass/fail test, where no leakage should occur after filling
with water, for a specific inspection level that corresponds to a good quality level (AQL) of
0.65. AQL is a statistical method of quality control which, from a limited number of samples, makes it
possible to determine the quality of the total production with an initially defined reliability. The AQL is
defined as the percentage of defective units (defective per hundred units x 100%) that the sampling plan
will accept 95% of the time. This means that lots with an AQL equal or better are accepted 95% of the time
and rejected a maximum of 5% of the time. The lower the AQL, the more restrictive the inspection. The
glove carries the pictogram for protection against microorganisms, because it complies with level 3.
Jackson Safety* G80 nitrile protective gloves are regulated under the European standard EN 388:2003 -
Protective Gloves against Mechanical Hazards. This standard is designed to evaluate the performance of
a fabric to resist abrasion, cuts, tears and punctures. For each test, performance is measured according to
the level of resistance that the glove withstands according to the attached table. The glove is approved to
the EN388:2003 standard, which is evidenced by the EN388 pictogram followed by the performance level
results for each test. These gloves have level 4 in abrasion resistance, 1 in cut resistance, 0 in tear
resistance and 1 in puncture resistance.

Storage and Final Disposal

G80 nitrile protective gloves should be stored in a cool, dry place. Gloves should be used within 2 years of receipt.
Landfills are suggested as the final disposal site for the product. The behavior of the material after disposal in landfills is
linked to the biodegradable behavior of the components described above.

MSDS - Material Safety Data Sheet

protective gloves do not require a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). This product is an "Article" as defined by OSHA regulation 29 CRF 1910.1200, section "c". It
does not have or represent chemical hazards under the conditions of normal use for which it is intended. As stated in section "B", subsection "5", the hazard
communication standard does not apply to this type of article.
