1. What is Hazard?
Hazard is a situation or behavior that may cause injury and illness to human and
animals, or damage to property.

2. What is Safety?
Safety is being safe from danger, or any catastrophe that is not expected to come.

3. What is the Hierarchy of Controls and Define?


Hierarchy of Controls is a step by step way to control, minimize or eliminate exposure to
hazards.

 Elimination – Process of removing the hazard


 Substitution – Replacing something that is hazardous, with something that is not
 Engineering Controls – Reduce or eliminate worker exposures to the hazard
 Administrative Controls – Limit exposures to hazards by adjusting work tasks or
schedules
 PPE – Protection you use personally

4. How to prevent or avoid hazards?


The way to void or prevent hazard is that we must be vigilant around us. Stay away from
any danger that may come your way. PPE should also be used for physical safety. Make it a
habit to keep the environment clean for a good health.
5. Choose a location from your House, take a photo and identify 5 hazards that are present
from it and how to prevent or avoid it.

HAZARDS WAT TO PREVENT OR AVOID


Fire Keep flammable items away when cooking,
keep checking for outlets, gas stove closure
and other possible fire sources.
Falls or Slips Wipe any possible cause of slip, do not run
fast
Toxic materials Organized toxic materials and put it in the
right place
Bacteria Sanitize, tidy up and organize things
Presence of cockroaches, fly, etc. Clean every corner of the area and spray
insect killer on their burrow
