What is the purpose of the International Safety Management (ISM) Code on board
the SHIP?
The purpose of ISM Code onboard ship is to give a global standard on how safe
management should be conducted and how operation of ships should be carried out. It
also provide a standard for the safety of the marine environment against pollution
that will be also implemented internationally. The ISM Code's purpose is simple as
it may seem but this code has to establish a safety-management objectives to
deliver its policy onboard ship that requires a safety management system.

and what date entered into force?
1993 was the year it has been adopted and it was entered into force on July 1,
1998.

We define "administration" in general of this topic as the Government of a
particular country or state whose flag the ship is declared to operate.

4. What is the responsibilities and authority of the Company in term of ISM?


The company's responsibilities and authority:

-Shore-based support and necessary resources should be provided by the Company. It


will allow every personnel to carry out their purposes.

-The authority, responsibility and interrelation of all personnel who manage,


perform should define and documented by the Company. They also have to make sure
that work relating to and affecting safety and pollution prevention has been
verified.

-The owner should report the complete name and other details of a particular entity
who is in charge for the operation of the vessel is other than the owner.

5. What is the responsibilities and authority of the Master in term of ISM?

The Master's Responsibilities:


- Motivates the crew in the observation of that policy.
- Implement the safety and environmental protection policy of the Company.
- Issue an appropriate orders and instructions in a clear and simple manner.
- Confirm that specified requirements are observed,
- Reviewing the SMS and reporting its deficiencies to the shore based management.

The Master's Authority:


-The master has the authority to make decisions with respect to safety and
pollution prevention and to request the Company's assistance as may be necessary.
-The Master has the authority to act decisively and to do the best action to take
in different kinds of situation to avoid damaging other vessel, marine life and
specially the vessel were the Master is onboard.
