It is always best to provide additional fluids at the onset of a problem,


instead of trying to compensate for dehydration after the fact.
The general symptoms of dehydration in dogs include the following:
sunken eyes, lethargy, dry mouth, appetite loss, loss of skin elasticity, and
depression.

Dehydration is a lack of water in the body, and can cause serious


complications for pets and people alike.

A sunken eye, or dull eyes, is usually the sign of dehydration in animals.

Balanced electrolyte solutions, such as lactated Ringers Solution, Normosol


R, Plasmalyte or even 0.9 saline (saline will sting a bit), can be used.
