EP. 5 - Verbal Message: Word Stress and Chunking

In this episode, you will learn some tips on how to pronounce words correctly
by putting an appropriate word stress on each type of words and to group words
into chunks called chunking as well.

ประสิทธิภาพ โดยในบทเรียนนี้จะแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ส่วนหลักๆคือ

Word stress การออกเสียงหนัก-เบาในระดับคา ทัง้ นี้คาว่าเสียงหนักเบานั้นยังมีความ

หมายถึงให้ออกเสียงพยางค์นั้นยาวขึ้น หรือให้ออกเสียงพยางค์นั้นสั้นลงด้วย ในบทนี้
แบ่งออกเป็นกลุ่มย่อยได้ 6 กลุ่มดังนี้

ส่วนพยางค์ที่เป็น prefix จะไม่ได้รับการเน้นเสียงหนัก
เช่น Reuse re=prefix use=root เน้นเสียงที่ root คือ use

CHUNKING
ในส่วนที่ 2 Chunking การแบ่งกลุ่มคา จะนาเสนอเรื่อง
F: How to say words in chunks
โดยปกติ เ ราจะแบ่ ง กลุ่ ม ค า (thought group หรื อ chunking) ครั้ ง ละ 3-5 ค า
ตามความสามารถในการหายใจ หรือ ผู้พูดอาจจะแบ่งกลุ่มคาตามทางหลักของ
ไวยากรณ์เช่น ใคร/ทาอะไร/อย่างไร/ที่ไหน โดยเว้นหายใจสั้นๆหลังกลุ่มคาโดย
เราจะสังเกตุได้ว่ากลุ่ มคาที่แสดงวั น เวลา สถานที่ และวิธี จะมีคานาหน้าต่า งๆ
เช่ น to infinitive; preposition; และ relative pronouns เป็ น ต้ น โดยผู้ เ รี ย น
สามารถดูได้จากส่วนที่ขีดเส้นใต้ให้ และหยุดหายใจยาวหลังจบประโยค
