To Whom It May Concern:

I have had the pleasure of being Heba Abdou’s Student-Teacher Advisor from St. Thomas
Aquinas College Sparkill, NY. During the spring 2021 semester, I have observed and evaluated
her in regular and special education classes.

Heba is a highly motivated teacher who worked to create lesson plans that were student-centered
while incorporating a variety of teaching materials and technology based on the knowledge and
development of her students. Her hands-on activities reinforced her lessons and motivated the
children to think critically. For example, in her multisensory special education class in math, her
lesson included an interactive Smart Board, a fine targeted lesson, and numerous
teacher-prepared activity sheets to meet various levels and learning styles. She also used varied
teaching methods and strategies to develop students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Heba continually looked to find ways to connect with her students and their learning. Not only
were her lesson plans well constructed and child-centered, but her creativity and implementation
flow were very natural. As I observed one of her edTPA lessons and watched her many hours of
preparing it for submission, it was evident she pays close attention to detail and she is constantly
striving for excellence in all aspects of her life in and outside of education.

In addition, Heba not only had an excellent rapport with her students but also with her
cooperating teachers and paraprofessionals. It was a pleasure working with Heba and from my
numerous observations in both regular and special education classes; she will be an asset to any
school district.

Sincerely yours,
