The Terminal is located at Pulau Sambu, Kepulauan Riau, Indonesia.

Coordinates, Latitude: 1° 9' 33" N &


Longitude: 103° 53' 51" E. Facility is owned by PT Pertamina (PERSERO). Approximate 3.9 km from
Sekupang, Batam Island and speedboat ride of ~8mins. 01 Pertamina, 21-men capacity speedboats available for
ferrying passengers to and from Pulau Sambu. Terminal area is restricted to public.

TBBM Pulau Sambu can handle HSD, Biodiesel and MFO Products and their components. Currently,
Pertamina is supplying for Indonesia domestic market usages.
SHORE TANKS
Terminal currently have total 21 shore tanks storing Products and Components in the facility of which 8 tanks
was not recommended to operate by Rotary Engineering. 4 recent build tanks, T-40, T-41, T-42 & T-43 was
completed and commissioned end 2016. The remaining tanks were refurbished, with some tanks dated back to
1897, since Shell era. 1st refurbishment works completed end 2016, 2nd refurbishment is still on going.
Tanks were calibrated by Indonesia approved company end 2016, some tanks re-calibrated in 2020 with
certificate expiring in 2022. Except for T-18, calibration had expired in March 2004. Shore personnel unable to
provide more details on why this tank was not calibrated. All tanks are coned-roof type without any internal
floaters.

 Each tank has 1 gauging point and 1 sampling point at top.


 Shore tanks are dedicated for HSD and MFO and their components. Inter-tank transfers among the shore
tanks can be carried out.
 Auto tank gauges (ATG) can be sighted at bottom and top (close to gauging point) for each shore tank,
however, need to recalibrate.
 Tanks are fixed with 1 cargo line which serve as inlet and outlet for the cargo. some shore tanks were
designed with no low suction points for stripping hence unable to empty out tanks.
 Each tank was fitted with single water draw-off points.
 Ladders and platforms leading to shore tanks top in good and safe working condition, however same
tanks lack of proper lighting.
 Shore tank bund walls for these tanks are not liquid tight, overgrown shrubs and grass can be seen. Each
wall able to contain 110% of the individual shore tank capacities.
 Tanks are outfitted with independent high level, high-high level alarms and low level and low-low level
alarms. The control room has the capability of monitoring all storage tank levels and flow rates.

JETTY AREA
The terminal has six (6) berths, namely #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 & #6. Non-operational berths #2 & #5 have no
topside fittings. The remaining operational berths are in service for the loading or discharging of ships and
barges. The fenders and all mooring equipment located on the berths are in good working condition.
Gangways available only at jetty 1 and 6. In-house pilotage and 03 tugs available for berthing and unberthing
operations, access to vessel at jetty only by pilot ladder or ship gangway.

SAFETY AND SECURITY
Visitors are required to exchange passes at the security post. All visitors going to operational areas are required
to attend the Safety Induction Course (SIC), where they will be briefed and informed of the safety procedures at
the facility.

The facility is also protected by fences and cameras positioned throughout the property, including the gate, tank
farms and berth areas. Lifejackets are required to be worn by all personnel in the berth area as well as fire
resistant clothing, hard hats, approved work shoes and safety goggles. Additional PPE is based on the work
being performed.

There are eyewash stations and showers located at all berths and throughout the tank farm areas. All storage
tanks have available fire extinguishers protection stored on site. Terminal has 2 fire engines at the facility.
Firefighting and emergency equipment are regularly inspected and maintained. Emergency exercises with
different scenarios are planned throughout the year.
