MEMO ASSIGNMENT- 1

Question 1

a. The response will be different for every student and based upon the case of their
project. The issues may be related to behaviour, practices, managerial decisions,
permissions, environmental aspects, and many other factors. But students should
describe them in context of their projects not ingeneral discussion.

b. The response will be different for every student and based upon the case of the
project.
The following are the common ethical practices while publishing any article:
1. Appropriate ascription of authorship to a publication
2. Rejection of any form of plagiarism
3. Reporting of authentic work and data
4. Appropriate acknowledgement to the institute/company or person who
assisted by any mean to the work being reported
5. Use of third party material with proper copyrights.
6. No simultaneous submission of manuscripts

c. Deductive logic- Begins with a premise, this is a statement of assumptions that the
researcher initially takes as true. If they are indeed true you can make conclusions
from them that are also true.
For Example- if all plants produce energy through photosynthesis and all tulips are
plants then tulips produce energy through photosynthesis. if the premises are not
true the conclusions will also be false.

 if all tulips are platypuses and all platypuses produce energy through spontaneous
combustion, then all platypuses produce energy through spontaneous combustion.
Inductive reasoning- Does not begin with a pre-established truth but with an
observation. People use specific instances or occurrences to draw conclusions about
entire classes or events. They observe a sample and then they draw conclusions
about the population from which the sample was taken.

The response on critical thinking strategy will be based upon the case of student’s
project. Different responses based upon the project scenarios are expected.

The response/answer will be different for every student and based on their project topic.
