Good Morning Mustang Scholars,

Today, May 21, 2021, I will be out of class. This means that today is considered asynchronous.
All work must be submitted by 1800 hrs. This means that you have two additional hours to
complete your assignments. Please take the time to read the expectations for today.

Content: Forms: Government Documents.

Yesterday, we discussed The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution of the United
States, and Article 1 and each of the 10 sections. You were asked to use this information for your
campaign. Make sure that you are prepared for your Running The Race campaign on Monday.
Health: Make sure that you have your notes. You will have a health assessment on Monday,
May 24, 2021. Yesterday, I created a zoom link that displays the notes for health. If you are
missing any notes, please go to the class website and select the hyperlink “Health Notes”.
Math: Unit 6 pages 208 – 215. Please check the gradebook for the word document template for
this assignment. This will prevent you from having to submit multiple pictures. If you have not
done so, submit Unit 6 Lesson 13.2, 14.2, and 15.2 for partial credit. It will not be accepted after
today.
Reading: Read 81 – 120. You will have an assessment on Monday. It will cover pages 1 – 120
(Grapes – Onions).
Writing: Forms: Dear PaPa. Marta wrote a letter to Papa that expressed her concerns for her
friend. We have seen Esperanza transition and deal with so many emotions. Now, we are going
to write a letter to PaPa from Esperanza. Based on our reading, write a letter to Papa that
addresses the things that have transpired since the burning of the ranch up to page 120. Your
writing should be in chronological order, express strong emotions, written in first person, and be
personal. You do not need to have an address or a date. However, you do need to demonstrate
proper writing. All sentences begin with a capital letter, proper nouns are capitalized,
grammatically correct, and end with proper punctuation.

Make sure that you are using your notes and your text. On our class website, you will find a
video labeled “health notes”. You are able to view the PowerPoint slide from our health class.
Take your time and do the following:
1. Read the question and answer the question. Not based on what you infer but on what the
text states,
2. Use inferences when inferences are expected,
3. Use details from the text to support your answer,
4. Make sure that your writing reflects 6th-grade standards. You are now considered 6th-
graders. Remember, topic sentence and supporting details,
5. Submit all work by 1800 hrs. You are able to submit your Esperanza Journal up to
Guavas and PowerPoint Window Pane (Guavas) for full credit,
6. Trust yourself and trust your work. Remember, quality.
I am going to miss all of you today. I cannot wait to see you on Monday.
