You can Know

1John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may
know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

The book of John, 1John, 2John, 3John and the book of Revelation was written by apostle John the Holy
Spirit being the author of the Bible used Apostle John to write these books and John wrote the book of
John to enlighten not only the sinner but also wrote these books specifically 1John, 2John and 3John to
edify the saints.

When God looks at the saved right now, He does not look at you anymore as a sinner. He looks at you as
righteous, we have eternal life because of the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ in us it is not our
righteousness, it is not what we have done, but it is what Christ hath done for us and receiving and
accepting the Lord Jesus Christ into our life that righteousness has been given to us. The moment we
entered into eternity and God will sees us as righteous, He will welcome us to heaven because it is the
home for the righteous. Because no sin will enter heaven.

The text the that we have red tells us that we can be saved and know it. the Bible is a book of certainty.
These things have I written unto you that ye may know. It is given us so that from here we can be sure
that we are saved, and it is also given to us because you may be saved but still have doubt in your
salvation.

It`s hard to praise the Lord, it`s hard to live a life of praise, it`s hard to live a life of worship when you are
engulfed with doubt. We need to go beyond doubt because you cannot truly praise, served, worship, or
glorify the Lord if you are living in doubts.

Doubt in our spirit is like pain to our body and when we have pain in our body it does not mean that we
are dead it is not good feel pain though it is good to know that you are alive.

Doubt is a signal that there is something wrong with your spirit, and hence God the Holy Spirit wrote this
for us to edify us to strengthen us so that we can move forward and continue live our Christian life and
to live in praise and to Honor God to glorify God and removed all doubts for doubts is contrary to faith.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and
that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Heb.11:6)

In our Christian life we need to test ourselves, the reason why doubt is there it`s because there is
something wrong.

1.The Commandment Test

1John 2: 3And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4He that saith, I
know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But whoso keepeth
his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6He that saith he
abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Stay on the course. Being a Christian doesn’t not mean we can never make a mistake, though we do not
live in sin but sometimes we do sins. But we have to stay back in our course, our star, our compass. And
Bible says the reason why we doubt our salvation, we doubt our Christian life; it`s because God`s word is
telling us that there is something wrong and we`re going off the course, we`re going away from God and
not continuing. Maybe you`re faltering, maybe you`re slacking, maybe you`re stopping but you need to
stay the course and we need test ourselves. maybe you are living in Sin, maybe you are doing something
that is contrary to the will of God for your life.

the bible does not talk about the Christians are sinless, but the Christians sins less and less and less. we
do not have the right to call ourselves Christians when we do not order our lives by the commandments
of God.

there are 2 things as you go be involved in Christian life number 1 is it makes us right and makes us live
right or 2 it can keep you away from doing the will of God. one of the best things that you can do is put
yourself in the road of accountability, commitment means accountability. Why do we need to have a
commitment in God? in church? In our Christian life? So, that we can be accountable.

If you are not committed in your life, if you do not stay the course, if you do not have a God given
destination in your life. You will fear away from God and will not continue in what God wants you to do.

Are you living by the Word of God, are we using the Word of God? we need to read it, hide it in our
heart, memorize it, and most of all live it. test ourselves.

2.The Companion Test

1John 3: 14We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that
loveth not his brother abideth in death.

1John 4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother
whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

1John 5: Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that
begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

The Characteristics of a true born-again child of God is loving every born-again child of God. if a man say
he love God and hateth his brother he is a liar.

1John 4: 7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God,
and knoweth God. 8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

if you love Jesus then you will love his Church, if you love Jesus then you will love his saints.

The local church is more beautiful if everyone loves each other, helping each other, not just in good
things but also in some bad situation in life, hardness, struggles and problems we have to lift up each
other. All of us are being tested in companionship. Though we may get discouraged through the lives of
other Christians who claim that they`re Christian but through their action, through their lives you cannot
see a single evidence of their claim we fixed our eyes in the Lord Jesus Christ as we follow his
commandments.

if you hate the Church, you hate the ministry, you the people in it, then you hate Jesus. Acts 9: And he
fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him,  Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? this is Saul
when he is not yet Paul.

you think that you hurting the Pastor by not doing your obligation? You think you`re hurting the church
when you are not doing your obligation? No. you are hurting Christ.

Saul was persecuting the Church and he thought that he was doing God`s will but then the Lord Jesus
Christ reminded him that he does not know the true God.

3.The Commitment Test

1John 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God
hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

The word believeth here means to commit, if you are not saved you need to believe you need to commit
to the only one savior the Lord Jesus Christ.

The word believeth is present tense, it is not how you believe him in the past, but do you still believe in
him today? Before you live a holy life, before you always come to church you are always involved in
every godly ministry but now where is that?

The Holy Spirit is still convicting you, if you are a true son of God, he does not like you to live that way,
he will chasten you if necessary. God never leaves his own.

God is not a liar, and we find in these verse that we say to God that you are a liar. Every time we do not
commit our lives, we do not follow the commandments of God, we do not love one another, we make
God a liar.

It will be hard for you to praise God, if you do not know him, if you do not have a relationship with him.
And if you are in Christ then lived for Christ praise him by living a life that is Christ honoring and
pleasing.
