LONDON
MIRRORED
FLOORS
I take a stroll along the river.

I hear the water crash up against

the sides of the bank.

The water is a murkey brown

and much wilder than normal.

Colored umbrellas attached to bodies with no heads
line the walk way with sounds of fragmented conversations
being spoken in various languages as I pass by.

METAL,

BRICK
I come to a metal mesh architectural structure
that form an organic snake-like shape
winding up the staircase
and lead me to the top of a Bridge.
I ascend as rain gently refreshes my face,
like a spritz.

Someone is playing the violin

to a symphonic beat of pop songs.
I only recognize the tune
but can’t recall the names.
I walk under a tunnel to get to the tube station.

there is a murmur of conversations.

Most of them are of people trying to coordinate
where they are, or where they will meet.

Most people’s faces look like they’re

confused, lost or frustrated.

only some wear a smile

or the occasional laugh
when travelling with friends.

Two girls on the escalator are headed up

as I descend adjacent to them.
They’re chanting and giggling
as they swing their arms up
and then down,
in opposite unison.

NATURAL
FOREGROUND
Birds are chirping.
Interesting juxtaposition against
the wet sounds of traffic.

I try to find the source of the chirping

I look up in the trees.
the leaves are dancing.
droplets of rain give them motion.
