Pixie hat
Work in rows. Use the colour you have choosen for the hat.
The hat is formed by a square of approx. 17 cm x 6 cm. End every row with 1 tch.

Ch 45.
So that the hat fits perfectly, wrap the chain around the head as seen on picture below. If it
looks approximately like this, the hat will get the perfect size, if not just add some more ch or
do less ch. R1-R17. 44 sc, ch 1

Fasten off and leave a long tail. Fold the square and sew together on the edge (use picture
as guide). Sew the yarn ends accurately. You can now turn the inside of the hat to the
outside.

For the cord, crochet ch 100 and fasten off.

Thread the cord along the bottom of the hat so you can tighten it and make a bow.

Finishing
If you haven’t used safety eyes, use black embroidery floss and embroider the eyes between
round 15 and 16. The distance between the two eyes is 11 stitches.
Optional: For the eyebrows embroider a diagonal stitch, 3 rounds above each eye.
Use the same colour as the head and embroider a little nose beetween the eyes.
Embroidering the hair: take a long strand of cotton yarn in a hair colour, put on the hat, take
some pins and mark on the left and right of the hat where you want your fringes to start and
end. I embroidered them from rd 6 down to rd 10.
(If you want to weave in the fringes as seen on the boy with the olive green hat, use
some strands of yarn (mohair or fine wool) and weave them into the top of boy’s head
from round 6 to 8. Weave in as many as you want to create a unique hair style.)

Use a small make-up brush, apply pink blusher to the cheeks and above the nose.

Put the pixie hat onto the head and close the cord.
With a large needle attach a loop to hang your bauble.
