7th week
On my 7th clinical week when I was attending my schedule class small group discussion on
senior elective education .The class seating was organized in a circular. We were all sitting on
chairs. Then one preceptor came in to class room and sit on a chair in a side and then one student
taken start lecture with the perception of teacher .every student have article r literature etc.
according to guideline of small group discussion. Each student take part in each objective was
compulsory. According to discussion rules In this discussion every student will be responsible to
pay respect each other and ask questions and can argue in a manner don’t be quarrel. This
discussion was graded and each objective had marks so participation of all students had
mandatory and follow all rules.one preceptor was conduct this session. He was observed the
students and evaluates each student. At the end of this session he provides feedback and correct
students mistakes. He also discuss overview of this lecture

Before starting this discussion I felt that small group discussion is a tool to test our teamwork
skills, listening skills, discussion ability, subject knowledge, and communication. Intrinsic skills
like reasoning, speaking and time management come in very handy. Skills that you can work
upon include presentation, summarizing and people speaking.

I evaluate that the good thing of this class was well organized and each student take part and
discussion complete with respective way. Environment of this discussion was peaceful and quite.
But the bad thing of this discussion was that some students did not listen carefully and busy in
mobile phones and their own article reading and they don’t pay attention.

The Analysis of Participation in Small Groups according to this article is that participation in
small group is a complex process, influenced by the competences, abilities, and behavior of both
self and other as by the dynamic nature of discussion and the static features of the task work on
conceptualization the complexity of participation.

My action plan will be in future are these..

1. Be an active listener and don't let attention drift.
2. Identify the main ideas being discussed.
3. Evaluate what is being said
4. Listen with an open mind and be receptive to new ideas and points of view.
