NARRATIVE REPORT ON SCHOOL-BASED INSET ON DEPED ORDER NO. 031 s.

2019
“The Department of Education Service Marks and Visual Identity Manual”

The Department of Education (DepEd) is the biggest government organization in the country with
17 Regional Offices, 222 Schools Division Offices, and approximately 60,000 elementary and secondary
public and private schools nationwide. It caters to 25 million learners and employs 700,000 men and
women in the Central Office and field offices. Hence, this Service Marks and Visual Identity Manual of
DepEd is developed to reinforce a consistent message and present a unified vision and a unified voice
in the Department. It provides general guidelines for the visual and verbal articulation of what DepEd
is, as well as specific directions for the application of the seal, logo, and related elements.

Panuca Elementary School thru the DepEd Order No. 031 s. 2019 or known as “The Department
of Education Service Marks and Visual Identity Manual” initiated this training – seminar for
teachers.

In this training, we used list of learning resource materials such as session guide, Participants’
manual, Delivery materials (presentation slides, videos, cases, etc.), handout and reading materials for
participants. This seminar started with the prayer conducted by Ms. Maria Allen Ann A, Casilihan
On day 1( January 8, 2021) our first resource person was started by the School Head, Mrs. Lilizel
F. Javier with the topic: Rationale, Scope of the Policy, Definition of Terms, Policy Statement. Next
resource person was followed by Mrs. Gladysjoy E. Virrey with a topic: Introduction;, Identity Basics
(Official Name, Seal, Usage of the Seal , Elements of the Seal, Symbolism of the Seal’s Elements, Color
Specifications, Color Variations , Size Specifications and Format , Spacing Requirement, and Seal and
Usage: Don’ts) and the last resource speaker of the day was Mr. All Ben S. Butiong with a topic: Identity
Basics (Logo, Usage of the Logo, Color and Font Guide , Color Variations, Size Specifications and Spacing
Requirement, Logo and Usage: Don’ts

On day 2 (January 15, 2021), our topic - Applications (Vehicles, Official Vehicle Signage, Sticker
for Employee’s Vehicle, Roof Markings, Wall Markings, Letterhead and Stationery) was discussed by the
energetic but nervous resource speaker- Mr. Allben S. Butiong. It was followed by Mrs. Heide V. Apasan
with the topic: Applications (Executive Office Bureau and Service, Regional Office, Division Office,
Principal’s Office, Memo and Notepad, Executive Office, Bureau/Service/Regional Director, Division
Chief, Envelope, Folder). and the last resource speaker of the day was Ms. Chona B. Malabanan, she
discussed the Applications (Certificate, Appreciation, Participation and Appearance, Kindergarten and
Grade 6 Certificates of Completion, Junior High School Certificate of Completion, Senior High School
Diploma)

On the last day-January 22,2021, the topic about Applications (Masterlist of A&E Registrants
(AF4), Co-Branding, Certification, Authentication, and Verification (CAV) Form , Form 137 or SF10-ES,
Form 137 or SF10-JHS, Learner’s Permanent Record (AF-5), DepEd Issuances, Press Release/Message)
was tackled by Ms. Chona Malabanan - The next topic was delivered Ms. Maria Allen Ann A, Casilihan
which is all about Applications (Plaque, Business Card, Identification Card, Collar Pin, Watch, and Ring,
Nametag, Instructional and Educational Material Cover, Leaflet, Flyer, and Brochure) Applications
(Newsletter, Promotion and Advocacy Material, T-Shirt / Polo Shirt Streamer, Backdrop, and
Background),Digital Media (Electronic Mail Signature.

The said INSET was participated by all teaching staff of Panuca Elementary School and they
were imparted knowledge and expected to utilized the knowledge acquired in accordance with
the guidelines on the specifications and applications of the Department’s name, seal and logo
to produce a unified look in all DepEd communications and publications
