My Future
Problem Based Learning Project
Overview:
Soon you will be off on your own! How will you manage your spending for eight months? Will you be
working, travelling or will you go to school? The choice is yours!
It is time to start planning ahead. There will be a lot of costs coming your way. This project will give you
the opportunity to start planning.
In this project, you will be responsible for planning your future (at least the money aspect of it.) You will
research about budgeting, look into budgeting apps and programs, choose your future path and budget
accordingly. Finally, tell me how you intend on following your plan of action.
Throughout the course of this project, you will also track your current spending over the next two weeks
using an application of your choice.
In this project, you will use various problem-solving strategies and technologies, such as, Word, Excel
Canva, and the Internet.
Grading Criteria:
1. Budgeting (50%) –all students will be responsible for a major budgeting assignment. After your
plan has been decided, you will be responsible for organizing all aspects.
Remember to try and keep it as realistic as possible. You will need to use Microsoft Excel and the
Internet to complete this portion of the assignment.
