The KT77_is designed for use in the output stage of an af ampi- fier. Two valves in Class ABI give a continuous output of over 70 W. The KT77 is also suitable for use as a series valve ina stabilised power supply. HEATER Heater voltage. ee eRe v Heater current (approx) 2. teen 1 A MAXIMUM RATINGS ‘Absolute Design Max. Tetrode Connection, Push-Pull. Class ABI ‘The KT77 is designed primarily for use under ultratinear conditions and this connection is recommended. However, similar performance can be obtained the tetrode connected arrangement but the output impedance will be greatly increased. For tetrode connection the fixed screen supply must not exceed 300 V, le Connection. Push-Pull. Class AB1. At a reduced absolute rating Patg2 = 25 Wa life of at least 10,000 hours should be obtained. The environ- ment must be @ static one and the valve should be switched net more than 12 times in each 24 hours. ‘A valve Is considered to have reached the end of life when iti elther inopera- tive or one or more of its characteristics have reached the following values: Output power. . sae 5 = 50% of initial value “Mutual conductance... 5 2 <8 mA ‘*Measured at : DCanode voltage 2... es + 250 v DCscreen voltage 2 ee ee + 200 v DCanodecurent 2... 2 2 ee es - 100 ma INSTALLATION ‘The valve may be mounted in any position. Free air circulation around the valve is desirable. When @ pair of valves is mounted horizontally it is recommended that the Ccontres of the valve sockets are not lass than 9 cm (3% in) apart and that the keyways on the spigots of each valve are in the vertical plane. When @ pair of valves is mounted vertically itis recommended that the centres of the valve sockets are not less than 9 cm (3% in) apart and thet the keyways ‘on the spigots lie along the line joining the centres.
