T-Mon SERVER CONNECTOR

T-Mon SERVER CONNECTOR is developed for monitoring a UPS, which is

connected to your LAN via T-Mon server or SNMP agent. It supports TCP/IP and
SNMP protocols together. It will monitor the UPS and Battery status. It can show you
all the UPS’s, which are connected to the LAN, and you can be connected to one of
them. You have to connect to the UPS that your computer mains voltage. If your
client is connected to the UPS via T-Mon Server the system administrator will set
your computers shutdown time after the Line Failure will occur, at the end of this
period T-Mon Client will shutdown your computer properly. If a Battery Low alarm
will occur in the mean time T-Mon SERVER CONNECTOR will shutdown your
computer without waiting the defined period.
How SERVER CONNECTOR works

Server connector program works at the background of Windows operating system ,it uses two type of
connection TCP/IP or SNMP for communicate with UPS ,if a UPS event occurs it opens a window at
desktop and shows the message ,this window is always on top window. User can continue to work on
any program. Only Important events showns on screen such as LINE FAILURE ,BATTERY LOW ,UPS
SHUTDOWN alarms . The other events will be followed by the UPS administrator.
During installation installer puts server connector program to the startup programs group so that at the
windows startup server connector program runs automatically ,after installation you must shutdown
windows and start up again .
If program is running ,on system tray at the taskbar you see green icon ,but you can’t see the program
window on screen ,if an important UPS event occures server connector message window will be
appeared on screen ,see message and click Hide menu item than work on your program.
For opening program window ,right click green icon on system tray and select Restore option.
If TCP/IP connection is selected ,During power events Automatic PC shutdown behavior is defined by
UPS administrator from TMON server program. If SNMP (simple network management protocol) is
selected shutdown delay and type can be define by the client user.
3 types of shutdown setting is available these are :
Shutdown at battery low (battery autonomy end ) PC works until the battery low alarm and shutdowns.
Shutdown after a certain delay ,after LINE FAILURE ALARM (program will count down) at the end of
countdown ,if the line failure alarm continues program shutdowns PC.
Scheduled shutdown (shutdown and restore in weekly program) At some applications at the morning
operating system starts up and at the end of day it must shutdown ,in this case from TMON server
program you can set weekly program for shutdown and restart.
SERVER CONNECTOR settings

For changing settings right click TESCOM client icon on system tray and click TESCOM client
restore ,program window seems on screen
From file menu ,go to settings subitem and click on it ,the setting options comes to window
On program setting these functions are available

TMON SERVER IP (UPS IP) address textbox

You must enter IP address of the TMON SERVER PC for connection if the IP address is not correct client can not establish
communication by UPS. IP address is a network address ,form is 10.0.0.5 four numbers which are seperated with dots ,the
numbers are 0 to 255

UPS DISCOVERY
if you don’t know the IP address of the UPS you can discover all UPS’s on system ,Click Find UPS button and wait for 2
seconds all UPS IP  adresses and types are seems in the window ,if you double click on it UPS IP window changes.

Polling interval (communication interval with TMON SERVER)
The polling (send request and get answer) process creates a data flow on network system ,you can select interval from
given parameters ,click on combo box select interval.

CONNECTION TYPE
options are TCP/IP and SNMP ,TMON SERVER programs supports two type connections but SNMP agents supports only
SNMP protocol
SHUTDOWN ENABLE
if this check box is marked program shutdowns your computer during critical power
events ,if not marked Client program shows critical messages.

Startup window behaviour

Normally program starts in minimized window position but you can change this parameter from
checkbox.
If SNMP communication is selected user can define backup time and battery low alarm delay ,at TCP/IP
protocol TMON SERVER program manages the backup time.

After you change settings don’t forget to save to disc (Click on Save Settings button ),otherwise at the next startup the old settings will be used.

After you click Save settings button ,the setting window hides and normal operation screen comes
