Global Investment Banking division advises corporates, governments and institutions on several lines
of services, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buy-outs, advisory on strategic topics and
capital structure. GIB’s main responsibility is to collaborate with companies to assess their options
and implement the chosen course of action. The teams are split by industries, namely Consumer and
Retail, Energy and Power, Financial Institutions, Healthcare, Multi-Industries, Real Estate, Gaming
and Leisure, and TMT. Such an organisation allows the bank to utilise experts’ knowledge in every
area, thus providing the most knowledgeable advice to clients.

M&A teams advise a prospective seller or buyer of a company. The main duty of buy-side team’s is
to value a potential target company, whereas the sell-side team prepares presentations and
information memorandums and organise the selling process. Other main responsibilities of the GIB
are collaboration with ECM and DCM, in order to deliver equity or debt financing solutions.

How do you think you will utilise your academic skills and experience to add value to the division
to which you are applying? Please do not exceed 150 words in your answer.

I believe to be a well-rounded individual who will flourish in a respectful and dynamic atmosphere.
As a person who highly enjoys challenges,I have chosen to read - at one of the most internationally
diverse universities worldwide,allowing me to strengthen my global perspective and develop my
communication skills. During my experience at - I had an excellent opportunity to develop my
decision-making by working on strategic deals like the - concession. Furthermore, I reassured myself
that I would not want to work anything else apart from investment banking.Besides,as a President of
- I demonstrated my team-working abilities and creativity by working with the society executives to
initiate an alumni career mentorship scheme. Moreover, my collaboration with other university
societies across Europe resulted in starting an online platform helping Bulgarian students to apply at
the most prestigious European universities.
