(B) i S curve

(B) (ii) S-CURVE

CV = BCWP – ACWP
SV = BCWP – BCWS

Cost Performance Index, CPI = (BCWP/ACWP)

Schedule Performance Index, SPI = (BCWP/ BCWS)

On 05 July 2018 (given the date from question, so assume it is the date of evaluation)

7
BCWS = 158,500
ACWP = 64,435
BCWP = 59,435

CPI = (BCWP / SPI = (BCWP /

Activity CV SV
ACWP) BCWS)
59,435 /
59,435 – 64,435
59,435 – 158,500 59,435 / 64,435 158,500
= (5,000)
= (99,065) = 0.92 = 0.37

Schedule Performance Index = (Earned / Planned).

Schedule variance related as a ratio instead of a dollar amount. A ratio less than 1.0
indicates that work is being completed slower than planned.

Cost Performance Index = (Earned/ Actual).

Cost variance related as a ratio instead of a dollar amount. A ratio less than 1.0 indicates
that the value of the work that has been accomplished is less than the amount of money
spent.

1) The project CPI and SPI are 1.00 until 10 May 2018, means that the value of work
done (CPI) is as planned and so does the schedule of work done.

2) Start from 10 May 2018, the graph shows the CPI and SPI are less than 1.00. CPI
less than 1.00 means that the value of work done are less than the amount of
money spent @ cost overrun. SPI less than 1.00 means it is behind the schedule.

C) Risk management is a four step process there is
Step 1- Risk Identification
Step 2- Risk Analysis
Step 3- Risk respornse
Step 4- Risk Review

Each step will be discuss in the table below:

After we analysis the risk we need to provide a sutiable responses to them these included
a) Reducing risk
 Reduce the likehood
 Reduce the consequence
b) Transferring the risk
c) Avoiding the risk
d) Accepting the risk
Reducing the risk usually the first alternative consideration there are basically two ways
to do this that is redusing the likehood that will accour and or reducing the impact the
adverse event would have in the project.

9
Project managers can also can consider transfering the risk by passing the work to other
person.This transfer does not change the risk its still remain in the same place and risk
will be handled by the different person.

D) As a project mananer i will consider using a matrix organisation as my project

managemnt structure because a matrix organizational structure is a company
structure in which the reporting relationships are set up as a grid, or matrix, rather
than in the traditional hierarchy. In other words, employees have dual reporting
relationships - generally to both a functional manager and a product manager.
In a matrix organization, instead of choosing between lining up staff along
functional, geographic or product lines, management has both. Staffers report to a
functional manager who can help with skills and help prioritize and review work,
and to a product line manager who sets direction on product offerings by the
company. This matrix structure will help me in my work because its have some
advantages such as.
 Resources can be used efficiently, since experts and equipment can be
shared across projects.
 Products and projects are formally coordinated across functional
departments.
 Information flows both across and up through the organization.
 Employee are in contact with many people , which help with sharing of
information and can speed the decision process.
 Staffer have to work autonomously and some self-management between
their competing bosses this can enchance motivation and decision making
employees who enjoy it.
