SAFETY REGULATIONS
ƒ Before starting, read these instructions carefully.

ƒ Never attempt to intervene or work on the rotation unit, couplings or

hoses, when the hydraulics or compressed air systems are connected.

ƒ Read through the operator´s instructions for both the rig and the rotation
unit thoroughly before putting the rotation unit into service. Always
follow the advice given in the instructions.

ƒ Use only authorized parts. Any damage or malfunction caused by the

use of unauthorized parts is not covered by Warranty or Product
Liability.

The following general safety rules must also be observed:

ƒ Make sure that all warning signs on the rig remain in place and are free
from dirt and easily legible.

ƒ Make sure there are no personnel inside the working area of the drill rig
during drilling, or when moving the rig.

ƒ Always wear a helmet, goggles and ear protectors during drilling. Also
observe any local regulations.

ƒ The exhaust air from air driven hammers and grinding machines
contains oil. It can be dangerous to inhale oil mist. Adjust the lubricator
so that the correct rate of lubrication is obtained.

ƒ Make sure that the place of work is well ventilated.

Function test
The rotation unit must always be function tested before it is to recommence operation. Carry out this
with the rotation unit correctly assembled and connected to the rig´s hydraulic system. Test run
unloaded for about 5 minutes, checking that the spindle rotates evenly and without dissonance.
