Chapter 2

METHODS

This chapter represents the research design, respondents, sampling, instruments,

and procedure to be used for data collection and analysis that were decided to be most

appropriate for addressing the formulated research question.

Research Design

Generally, research design means a structure to plan and execute a particular

research. This study will utilize quantitative method of research. This research will

use the descriptive research design which is appropriate to the study in collecting

necessary information about the effects of time management in the academic

performance of Maccimians in Online Distance Learning. It is helpful to determine

the extent of a relationship between two or more variables using statistical data.

According to Bhaskaran (2021) Quantitative research collects information from

existing and potential customers using sampling methods and sending out online

surveys, online polls, questionnaires, etc., the result of which can be depicted in the

form of numerical. With that reason, the researchers used a descriptive design because

it is necessary for us to identify the characteristics or behavior of our respondents. As

stated in the study of Gall and Borg (2007), the goal of descriptive research design is

to describe a phenomenon and its characteristics, it is also concerned with what rather

than how or why something has happened.

In the long run, this study will explore various processes in analyzing data

using narrative design. The researchers will assure that problems will be taken care of

before it can affect our study, the researchers are willing to conduct meetings to verify

findings and results.
