Over the past five years, I have been working as a junior high English
Language Arts Instructor at Saints Peter and Paul School in Wilmington,
CA. My principal duties include literature and composition instruction for grades six, seven, and eight. Additional responsibilities include moderating the student chorus and school archery team. I also wrote our school’s self study for our WASC visitation in 2019.
As an English Language Arts instructor, my principal focus is the
development of composing skills. My postgraduate academic training included several courses dedicated to composition instruction as well as a survey of the great rhetoricians of Western civilization. Over the last five years, several of my students have won awards in the essay contest sponsored by the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
At one of my previous positions, Junipero Serra High School, I taught
courses in Spanish grammar. As part of my duties, I prepared a curriculum map based on the American Council of Foreign Language Standards.
