Keena Bush and Heidi Crossman continue our dominance in the 2x400 hurdle
event, setting a meet record in the process. It is the third time in four years that we win
the event.
On a whim, we put Keena Bush in the 100 meter dash in a dual meet at Carthage.
She breaks the school record by a full second, finishing in 13.1. This discovery greatly
improves the team’s outlook for the rest of the season. It also helps Keena to one of the
most dominant seasons a Lowville Track athlete has ever had.
Junior Keena Bush wins four individual events at class C sectionals on her way to
winning 13 titles at invitationals and championship meets that year. Keena sets two
Frontier League records (100 hurdles, 400 hurdles) and is the MVP of the Oswego
Bucanner Classic and the VanDusen Invitational. Sophomore Heidi Crossman wins the
pentathlon at class C sectionals.
Keena wins two medals at the state championship meet, sixth in the 400
meter low hurdles, and fourth in the 100 meter high hurdles. She also jumps 16’11 ¾” in
the long jump at states for a school record.
