Budget 2011.

Cash, CPF and Savings:

 All adult Singaporeans will get $100 to $800 to be paid out in May. These Growth

Dividends will cost the Government $1.55 billion.

 More CPF for working people: Employers will pay 0.5 % point more, making it 16%

from September.

 This goes into the Special Account, which earns more interest.

 Medisave top-ups: About 1.3 million Singaporeans aged 45 and above will have their

Medisave accounts topped up by between $200 and $700. This will cost the

government $500 million.

 No more TV and radio license fees. If you have already paid for this year, you will

get back your $110 for the TV license and $27 for the radio license.

Tax Breaks:

 All taxpayers get a one-off personal income tax rebate of 20 % this year, capped at

$2000. This will cost the government $580 million.

 From next year, Singaporeans will pay less tax. Personal income tax rates have been

reduced for the first $120,000 of chargeable income, saving taxpayers $590 million a

year.

Rebates for HDB dwellers:

 Each household will get U-Save rebates of up to $360 this year. Households living in

one-to four-room HDB flats will also get an extra month of S&CC rebates. The

Government will also spend $200 million on this and it will benefit 800,000

households.

New help for families:

 All Singaporean children aged six and below will get help with preschool, childcare

and medical expenses.


 Four in five families with young children will receive $400 per child and the rest,

who are better off, will get $300.

 More than 220,000 children will benefit.

 Students in primary and secondary school will get $130 each in their Edusave

accounts.

Boost for the needy:

WORKFARE BONUS:

 400,000 Workfare recipients will get a special bonus of 50% more for work done last

year and 25% more for work done this year and next year. The first payout will be in

May.

PUBLIC ASSISTANCE:

 Those permanently unable to work will get more. PA recipients living alone will get

$400 a month.

SPECIAL HOUSING AGENT:

 First-time HDB flat buyers with a household income of up to $2520 CPF housing

grant.

HELP FOR NEEDY STUDENTS:

 Polytechnic and university students from lower-and middle-income families will get

larger bursaries.

 More families will benefit from the Kindergarten Financial Assistance Scheme and

the Centre-based Financial Assistance Scheme for Childcare, which will now cover

households earning up to $3500 a month.

FOR THE ELDERLY:

 The Singapore Allowance for government pensioners will be raised to $260 a month.

 The Government will set aside $10 million a year to help low-income elderly people

get wheelchairs and walking frames.


FOR THE FUTURE:

 A new $1 billion Community Silver Trust will be set up, where the Government will

match every donation to voluntary welfare organisations that provide long-term care.

The Government will also top up Medifund, the Comcare Fund and the Eldercare

Fund.

For The Future:

 $10 billion will be spent to upgrade homes and rejuvenate estates over the next 10

years.

 Over the next 5 years, $365 million will be spent on arts and culture each year.
