TCK Wire Rope Non-Destructive In-Service

Inspection System
Test Report

Test Property: Wire Rope Flaws Quantitative Test

Test Type: Daily Test

Test Instrument: TCK-BX55

Test Code: 0001

Test Place: Lab

Tested by: TCK Company: TCK

Checked by: Max Date: 8/2/2012
Introduction:
1. This report consists of the main report page (I. Test Report)

and the accessorial pages. The final conclusion of the test should

be made according to conclusion of the main report.

2. The accessorial report consist of “ II. Table of to Flaw

Degrees”, “ III. Table of Flaw Sequence” and “IV. Flaw Curve”.

The accessorial report is mainly to help the test workers to fully

assess main report (I. Test Report), and meanwhile provide more

perspectives for data analysis.

3. The test data and results are derived from TCK Wire Rope

Quantitative Test Equipment, The test data and results are derived

from TCK Wire Rope Quantitative-Inspection System, And test

content is the percentage loss of effective metallic bearing cross-

sectional area on any spot of wire rope.

4. The criteria and ways of expressions of this test are in

compliance with Wire Rope Nondestructive Quantitative In-Service

Inspection Methods and Assessment Rules, and therefore are

different from the traditional visual method.

5. The test especially provides one referential aided tables in the

accessorial test pages: the table of flaw degrees to help the test

staff to fully assess the test results and flaw types.

Conclusion Replace Rope Soon

Note: The conclusion of the test can be divided into the following
grades.
1. When the maximum Flaw value is less than 30% of the Flaw
upper limit, it is graded as Slight. Conclusion: continue to use
2. When the maximum Flaw value is between 30%-60% of the
upper limit, the Flaw is graded as Medium. Conclusion: enhance
Remark maintenance.
3. When the maximum Flaw value is between 60%-80% of the
upper limit,it is graded as Serious. Conclusion: keep close watch.
4. When the maximum Flaw value is more than 80% of the upper
limit but does not exceed the upper limit, the Flaw is graded as
Severe. Conclusion: change recently.
5. When the maximum Flaw value exceeds the upper limit, it is
graded as Over Limit. Conclusion: Stop using.

Ш. Table of Flaw Type Analysis(For Reference)

LF(Type)* 4 3.05 5.40
LMA*
Other* 1 2.69 4.76
Combined* 1 9.35 3.33
Note: This is an accessorial analysis of flaw types.the results of which are accessorial
information to the main test report. The flaw types of wire rope in service are so complicated
that single-type flaws are rarely seen. Therefore ,there will be some difference between the
flaw types derived from the tests and those derived from "Visual tests".Accurate judgements
must be made by referring to the flaw Curve.

LF(Type)*. The typical LF represents the disconnected status of wire/rope. While LF

Type means the flaw detected is of LF feature.its trend or future result is LF.
LMA*.LMA includes several types of flaw,like corrosion,abrasion,etc.
Other*.Here it includes the fatigue,press,hard-fragile,etc,which should not be
identified as LF or LMA.
Combined*.>=2 types of flaw(above mentioned) appears together.
