Some believe that more academic subjects such as chemistry, physics and history
should be taught in schools, while others believe that students will derive more benefit
from studying practical subjects, such as motor mechanics and cooking. Discuss both
views and provide your own opinion with relevant examples.

Nowadays, the question of whether students should learn academic subjects, such as
chemistry, physics and history or practical subjects, such as motor mechanics and
cooking has been receiving a great deal of public attention. Although studying academic
subjects is not without advantages, vocationa subjects will be far more considered.

There are a variety of reasons for studying academic subjects. First, since most graduates
expect to land a decent jobs down the road (= in the future), having access to academic
courses is necessary. In fact, most high-salaried workers are required to have complex
understandings of their disciplines, which can only be achieved if they have taken
academic subjects. Second, by learning these subjects, students can continue higher
education. This means that they are armed with fundamental knowledge to do research or
study, which is conducive to (có lợi cho) humans’ innovations and developments later on.

Children’s education is expensive. In some countries, the government pays some of or

all of the costs. Do the advantages outweigh its disadvantages?

In recent decades, the question of whether or not the government should pay for children’s
education has been receiving a great deal of public attention. Although this assistance is
not without the disadvantages , the upsides will be far more significant.

There are a number of drawbacks of this sponsorship. First, since a sustainable

development of a nation requires to have many investments in many fields, paying all of
the costs for children’s education can put more burden on national budgets. In fact, the
governments need to fund properly for many key areas, such as healthcare, economy,
education, which implies that every citizen should shoulder the responsibity of paying for
their kids’ schooling fees. Second, by supporting kids’education by national budgets, the
governments could create unfairness to childless people. This means that they may feel
angry or irritated if knowing that their money isnot spent on their benefits.
