Central Idea Internet can be a very good thing but it can also be the most dangerous thing you´ll
ever use.

Reveal the topic Internet can be a very good thing but it can also be the most dangerous
thing you have ever used.
Establish credibility and goodwill Do you really know who the person you´re talking to, is the one he says he
is? How do you know you not being fouled by a man in India, trying to
steal your credit card information?
Preview the body of the speech Today, i would like to inform you about some informations you might have
to be aware of when it comes to the internet.
Transition to the Body Let’s start by looking at the first danger of using internet.

I. Main Point 1 People can get bullied.
A. Sub-main point 1 Cyber-bullying, one of the common crimes, is mainly targeted at students
in addition to actual physical and verbal bullying.
1. Sub sub main point 1 Carnell (2007) points out evidence that many pupils are being targeted in
their own homes by phone texts, silent calls, instant messenger and by
abusive websites and forums, some set up with the specific intention of
causing humiliation and embarrassment.
2. Sub sub main point 2 More than half of teenagers have been bullied at least once.
3. Sub sub main point 3 Most of them don’t tell to their parents.
B. Sub-main point 2 Cyber-bullying often leave many severe consequences especially for
tenagers.

2. Sub sub main point 2 Victims often lack of self-confidence, have severe self-esteem damage and
have more fear, sadness, anger after being bullied.
3. Sub sub main point 3 Once available on the internet, the similar contents are often persisted for
a long time and it is difficult to get rid of them.
Every single word you say can save someone’s life or kill it as well.
II. Main Point 2 We can’t control the relationships on the internet.
A. Sub-main point 1 The internet is becoming quite affordable and has always offered
anonymity.
1. Sub sub main point 1 A person can enter a chatroom, use an alias and talk to other members
without revealing their true identity.
2. Sub sub main point 2 If you can do all that without revealing your true identity, can you really
trust the person you are talking to? Can you be certain that they are being
honest with you?
3. Sub sub main point 3 Bad people can use it to take advantage of you.
B. Sub-main point 2 Immersing ourselves in online relationships makes us separated from the
real world.
1. Sub sub main point 1 People are spending more time on their vitual relationships than their
parents.

uncontrollable.
1. Sub sub main point 1 In some countries in Europe and Asia, the phenomenon of online game
addiction has caused many people to be hospitalized in critical condition
due to exhaustion.

created a wave of "fans" of all ages.

addiction" is like "gambling addiction", it is not an ordinary physical illness,
which has become a much more serious problem: it is a form of pathology
related to human attitudes and behaviors.

"addiction" in this way and it's about 1.1% of those addicted to gambling
online.

Signal the End of the speech It is commonly accepted that the Internet provides us with opportunities
that have been hitherto unavailable. However, it is prudent not to be
lulled into a false sense of security by the promising opportunities.
Reinforce the Central Idea People should be made aware of the dangers lurking in the Internet, and
be given the education and means to take steps to stay safe online.
