2. Senaraikan definisi psikologi perkembangan menurut Sharifah A. Alsagoff (1987)

Sharifah A. Alsagoff (1987), in Mok Soon Sang (2012), perceives developmental psychology as a
study of factors that determine human behaviour as well as changes in abilities, personalities,
motivations and social characteristics based on certain time stages. Developmental psychology is the
scientific study of human growth and development in aspects such as physical, mental, emotional,
personality, individual differences and lifelong behaviour.

Development is a continuous process since childhood to adult. The developmental psychology is


essential for teachers to be able to understand the children’s development in order to provide effective
teaching plans. In addition, teachers can also use appropriate methods according to students’ abilities.

3. Apakah definisi atau konsep Psikologi Pendidikan menurut beberapa tokoh?

Definition:

Educational Psychology is a sub-discipline of psychology which concerns with theories and problems
in education.

The Penguin Dictionary of Psychology (2001)

Concept:

Within the school education context, it can be interpreted as the application of psychology to study
educational aspects. Such as:

a) Development of individuals’ potentials, personalities, principles.


b) Methods of teaching and learning in classroom, including classroom management, needs and
motivation, assessment, guidance and counselling, educational research and other educational
matters.

4. Senaraikan tujuan pembelajaran psikologi pendidikan kepada guru.

Educational psychology provides much guidance to teachers in terms of enhancing the efficiency of
the learning process in varying situations such as:

i) Understanding individual (students) differences

ii) Creating a conducive learning environment in the classroom

iii) Selecting the best strategy and method in learning

iv) Providing guidance to students

v) Assessing learning outcomes

Educational psychology has contributed considerably to teachers. It has helped to develop an


impartial and democratic attitude towards learners and helps them into integrated personalities.
Educational psychology’s role is central to know and deal about the problems related to learners such
as:

 Fostering classroom environment


 Individual differences
 Identify children with special needs
 Effective methods of teaching
 Influence of heredity and environment on the student
