STEPS IN MAKING A PAPER BAG

Here are the simple steps in making a paper bag.

1. Gather the materials need.


● newspaper/ magazine/
manila paper/ brown
paper
● glue
● scissor
● handle (ribbon/ rope/
yarn)
● materials like glitters,
paint, beads, and crayons to decorate the bag.

2. Get a sheet of a paper, cut it in


rectangular shape. Fold it in half a
horizontal position. Fold about an
inch at the top sides together.
Paste the overlap side and make
sure that the glue dries completely.
3. Fold both sides inward in same
measurement (you may use ruler on
measuring both sides) creating a
crease and adding an effect for your
paper bag.

4. Fold the bottom of your bag in push down to form a


crease. This will be the base or the bottom side of your
bag.

5. Open out both sides of the base by flattening the


corners.

6. Fold one side of the base inwards as


shown in the picture. Fold the other side
overlapping the first one less than an
inch. Making a rectangular shape bottom.

7. Tape or glues the base of your bag.


8. Pop up the bag
open and make sure that
the bottom is completely
glued or closed.
9. For your bag
handle. You can use a rope, ribbon, yarn, or paper twine. Add some details on your paper
bag applying the principle of art with the
decorations you have.
