1 PROJECT CHARTER PURPOSE


The project needs to be done to reduce Overhead costs, vide printing course material and
posting of course material to different cities in India and overseas are high. Approximate
charge of printing per book is INR 1000/- and approximate posting charges is INR 500/-.

2 PROJECT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY


 Goal – To reduce the overhead costs, vide printing and posting by 70%.
 Objective – To reduce costs incurred to company, vide printing and posting.
 Scope – Applies to only Six Sigma Green Belt Courseware. If successful, the need for
Enterprise Wide Deployment can be addressed.
 Assumptions – Data entry conversions will be done by Data Entry Operator team.
 Risks – Possible impact on Customer Satisfaction nullified by Trainer’s Survey on the
thickness of the book in past training sessions.
 Costs – No upfront cost investment. 2 man days’ work needed by 1 Data Entry Operator.
 Timeline – 7 – 10 Business Days
 Approach – Kaizen Blitz

 External Role – C.Vishwanathan, Faculty Trainer, Simplilearn (No pecuniary arrangement
for this project).

3 PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Kaizen Blitz Project on reducing overhead costs, vide printing of courseware and
posting by courier is undertaken with the view of relatively high printing costs and posting
costs and also a resultant increase in the size of the courseware, which has a direct impact
on costs.
