BIO.

AUGMENTATION TREATMENT PROGRAM

Scope of Works / Terms of Reference

The treatment program shall use bio-augmentation product (s) consisting of non-pathogenic,
non-mutating spore form / spore forming organism of bacillus family, cellulose, protyase,
amylase, and lipase. These shall be bio-degradable, natural, and ecological-friendly microbial
organism specific for Fats, Oil and Grease biodegradation. The baderia an the product to be use
shall solve organic waste problems, control foul odor and clean sewer pipeline.

2. The Contractor shall provide treatment products and services for grease traps, grease chambers,
lift station, and main sewer line. Treatment for all dishwashing areas (if any), shall be treated
three (3) times a week and shall be Free of charge. The treatment of the main sewer lines and
grease chambers shall be done on a quanerly basis and shall be free of charge.

3. The Contractor shall supply and apply the total required quantity of treatment products with the
approved contracted bacteria description and quantity, including substitutes or any other similar
products that will give the same or better results at no additional cost to MCD. The substitutes or
any other products must be approved by MCD-

4. The contractor shall assume the responsibility of charging, handling and applying the bio-enzyme
products at least three (3) times a week, the schedule of which must be presented to Mall
Administration one (1) month in advance for the approval and proper coordination with the
mall's tenants.

5. The Contractor shall conduct an ocular inspection for all grease traps, grease chambers, and
kitchen sink prior to inltial dosing or shock treatment. Cleaning and de-clogging of drain lines
from tenants up to main drain lines if materials found are not inorganic shall be done by
Contractor at no additional cost to MCD.

6. The Contractor shall conduct a mechanical de-clogging services of the main sewer line and on the
tenants grease trap in cases where over flowing is caused by fats, oils and grease and shall
provide immediate response within 24 hours at no cost to MCD.

7. The Contractor shall conduct an orientation program to the Malls Engineering Department, Staff,
Administration Dept. and other stakeholders before commencement, highlighting the "Dos" and
"Don'ts" in maximizing the effectiveness of the Bio-augmentation Treatment Program at no
additional cost to MCD.

8. The Contractor shall designate it's own Technician to check any back flows and any related
incidents on a daily basis.

9. During produ€t dosing, a representative of Mall En8ineering shall be on the site to check correct
implementation of the treatment program. All product dosing shall be duly acknowledged by the
concerned tenants of MCD.

10. The Contractor shall desi8nate a Project Engineer to monitor the services and Treatment
program twice (2) a week or as deemed necessary to ensure proper implementation of the Bio-
Augmentation Treatment Program.

11. The Contractor shall submit a Monthly Report to Mall's Chief Engineer / Facilities Manager in

12. The Contractor shall provide assistance, consultancy and proper coordination with DENR and
LLDA as part of good public relations and partnership in compliance to the Agency's
environmental requirements as well as assistance in documentation for DENR and LLDA annual
renewal of discharge permit, processing of environmental use/s fee and submission of self-
monitoring reports, with respect to the wastewater compliance under the Philippine Clean Water
Act or RA 9275.

13. The Contractor in the presence of Mall Engineering personnel shall conduct a monthly sampling
of STP influent and effluent, and submit the sample assigned to the Conractor for analytical
laboratory tests with respect for parameter on Fats, Oil and Grease (FOG), during the duration of
the treatment thru DENR Recognized Environmental Laboratory (refer to
htto://www.emb.eov.ph) or 1SO17025:2005 accredited testing laboratories (refer to
htto://pao-dti.sov.ph). The Contractor will submit the result of the analytical laboratory report to
Mall Engineering within seven days after the conduct of the sampling,

14. ln cases where MCD'S Sewerage Treatment Plant fails to comply with DENR and LLDA effluent
standards due to any circumstances, the Contractor is obliged to provide assistance in the STP
Operations such as bacteria seeding and bio-enzyme application, and designate technical
personnel for close monitoring documentation and consultancy assistance with the pertinent
government regulatory agency without any additional charges to MCD.

15. ln the event that the STP effluent failed due to the bio-aurmentatlon oroqram, the Contractor
is llable to pav all the corresponding penalw to be imposed bv DENR and LIDA - all oavment to
these Government AEencles shall be for the account of the Contractor.

tb. The Bio-Augmentation product when diluted in the system shall have no damaging effects on the
Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) and shall not cause health risk to Operators, Technicians. The
by-products shall not exceed those provided by the'oENR effluent regulation". The bacteria to
be utilized in the treatment shall have no reaction with fiberglass, stainless steel, brass and iron,

77. The Contractor will be required to submit the following Bonds / lnsurances.
a. Contractors All Risk lnsurance (cARl)
b. Performance Bond
