NOTICES
Capital E National Arts Festival: All CTMS students will be attending three performances as part of the Capital
E National Arts Festival on Tuesday 22 March. The children will be transported to the first venue by bus. The bus
departs CTMS at 9:15am. Then school will be walking back to school from Capital E and the Town Hall. We will
be having lunch in town so please make sure your child has food that does not require heating.

Education Review Office: This week the ERO Review team have been visiting CTMS. They met with staff and
Board of Trustees on Thursday to give feedback on their findings. We look forward to receiving the written
confirmed report. This will be distributed to the community next month.
Summary Variance Report 2010: Please see attached Variance Report 2010 highlighting National Standard
achievement in Reading, Writing and Mathmatics for students in Years 1-8 at CTMS.
Teacher Trainees: Next week we welcome teacher trainees Heather Mosher to Kauri and Kate Robinson to Kauri
homegroups. They will be working in these homegroups for seven weeks.
Entertainment Books Fundraiser: These are available to purchase from the office at $60 each with $12 going to
the school. If you buy your book now you will receive additional coupons. The books will be available on Friday.
PTA Easter Raffle: Flyers went out yesterday. Please return the request form to the office asap.
Parent Information Afternoon: Kauri-Tuesday 22 March, Kowhai-Wednesday 23 March, Kahikatea 24 March.
Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews: Please return your Interview Slips to the office.
School Telephone List: A draft copy of the school telephone list is displayed on the noticeboard outside of Kauri.
Please make any amendments to it by Tuesday so we can get it circulated at the end of next week.
St Matthew Passion: Annie and Billy Dancer (and their Mum) will be performing JS Bach’s Matthew Passion on
Sunday 10 April at the Town Hall. Anyone interested in attending, please see the attached flyer.
Girl Guide Biscuits: Ebony is selling Girl Guide biscuits for the Kelburn Guide Club - $3.50 for mini chocolate,
$3.50 for large chocolate and $3.00 for plain. They will be available to purchase from the staff room.
Grasshopper Tennis: As part of our sports programme CTMS students will be receiving tennis coaching from a
professional tennis coach on Thursday afternoons. CTMS has received funding for the tennis equipment (15
racquets, tennis net and balls). The children will be working towards developing a range of tennis skills over the
next four weeks and participating in a tennis tournament at the end of the coaching sessions.
Moving March: Next week CTMS students will be involved in ‘Moving March’. This initiative celebrates kids who
walk, cycle, skate or scooter to school. As part of this initiative we will be decorating the school gate on Thursday
and on Friday we will be having a ‘Fancy Feet Day’ where students can decorate an old pair of shoes!
