PROBLEM WE ARE SEEKING TO ADDRESS

l The Incidence of Non Communicable diseases is on the rise particularly Cancer


l India’s healthcare spend is insufficient to meet the needs of raising patient numbers and cost
l India accounts for over 8% of Cancer deaths in the world
l Overall, the cancer prevalence is estimated to be 83 per 100,000 persons with a greater prevalence reported in urban
population (110 per 100,000 persons)
l Though the Primary and Secondary medical care centres are increasing in number, tertiary care is still deficient
particularly in tier 2 and 3 cities.
l Lack of Integrated treatment centers for comprehensive care of patients
l Cost of healthcare delivery is on the raise.
l Northwest of Bangalore needs tertiary care facility particularly Comprehensive Cancer care, Gastro and Liver care,

Employee’s Stock Option Plan (ESOP): Doctors and other staff who are working full time in the hospital may be offered shares at a discounted rate
for a fixed period of time as decided by the board of Directors.
The share holders will sign a share holders agreement. The consultants who work as full time consultants have to sign a professional agreement
which is independent of the share holders agreement. Investment and Clinical work will be independent of each other.

in West Midlands, UK, where he served as the lead Oncologist for Radiotherapy. He has served as
Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University Of Birmingham.

Dr M.C Uthappa was a Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Interventional Radiology at Stoke
Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury, UK following the completion of his training in the UK., where he set up a full-
fledged IR service. He relocated to India to take up the position of Consultant Radiologist with an interest in
Interventional Radiology in Manipal Hospital, Bangalore. In his current position he manages all IR services
across three super specialty hospitals at Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai, leading and training a team of 5
interventional Radiologists across three states. He is currently involved in setting up a new IR service at
Pakriya. He has performed over 15,000 IR procedures over 15 years in the UK and India.

Head and Senior Consultant - Medical Oncology, in a leading Private Hospital, Bangalore
Following completion of his training, Dr. Madhava joined Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth as a
Consultant Clinical Oncologist. He worked as consultant with special interest in Lung, GI malignancies,
Urology & Hepatobiliary malignancies for 6 years before returning to India and joining HCG, Bangalore as a
senior Consultant Medical Oncologist.
With his extensive General Medicine and Clinical Oncology experience his strength is in accurate diagnosis of
cancer, communication with patients & family, planning appropriate sequencing of treatment and delivering
comprehensive care for patients with solid malignancies. He accepts most challenging cases and believes
that there is always something that can be done to improve the life of cancer patients.

Dr. Somnath Chatterjee

Following completion of his training he was a Consultant in Anesthesia & ICM at Heart of England
Foundation NHS Trust. He relocated to India in 2006 and was the Consultant (2006-2010) and Head (2006-
2008) of the Adult Multidisciplinary Intensive Care Unit at Manipal Hospital Bangalore. He relocated to
Singapore in 2012 to help in the development of the first Multidisciplinary ICM department for the Neng
Teng Fong General Hospital to open in December 2014. In his present position he is the Lead Clinician of the
Quality Assurance Committee of the Department of ICM and is responsible for improving the care delivery
processes and development of Policies and Procedures for the Department. He is also the Trauma Lead for
the Department. His special interests include Ultrasonography and Echocardiography in ICM, teamwork
development, ICM Database, skill development in ICM, safety in Healthcare and medical Education including
development of Medica Simulation in ICM.

He is presently a Consultant Cardiologist at the United Lincolnshire Hospital NHS Trust.

Dr. Diwakara Chaluvaiah

Consultant Radiologist and ChairmanDepartment of Radiology, Al Seef Hospital, Kuwait
He worked as a Consultant Radiologist in various hospitals in South India before relocating to Kuwait in
2000. He is presently the Chairman of the Department of Clinical Radiology at the Al Seef Hospital in Kuwait.
He was instrumental in planning the department layout, equipment installation in coordinating with
construction engineers and the equipment engineers in setting up the department of Radiology. He was also
the first Medical Director of the Al Seef Hospital Kuwait and played a key role in commissioning the hospital
in 2009.

Colposcopy, Pre-cancer and Cancer cases in Gynecology. He is competent in advanced Laparoscopic,
Hysteroscopic (outpatient and inpatient), Colposcopic and General Gynecology procedures.
He has facilitated advanced laparoscopic courses and currently participates in research trials. He also has an
active role in teaching trainees at the UHNS and Keele Medical School.

Medical retina, Small incision cataract surgery (no stitch) including phacoemulsification, management of
glaucoma including laser surgery, external eye diseases and cornea, eye lid procedures (entropian,
ectropian, blepharoplasty).

Dr. C Sreedhara Nittur

He has more than 10 years of experience as Paediatrician and Neonatologist in the United Kingdom and
India. He has completed his CCT in Paediatrics and Neonatology and has worked in various prestigious
hospitals in South Wales region. He is experienced in the management of extreme premature babies and has
a keen interest in Paediatric Cardiology. He has been involved in several research projects.
