Activity 7

TCW
(300 to 500 words per question)
1. What is in your own view about the Ethical obligation of a global citizen?

In a globalized world marked by inequality, poverty, and all types of violence and
intimidation, certain norms are needed to alleviate social and political problems and
restore community social equilibrium. Global citizenship ethics are the values that assist
citizens in overcoming these issues, forming bonds with one another, promoting peace
and security, and understanding people from various cultures. Someone who is
committed to those beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors is referred to as a global citizen. In
educational contexts, particularly in education, teaching the ethics of global citizenship
plays a crucial role. It aids in the growth of cognitive skills.

A global citizen is someone who is well-informed about world events and has a
thorough understanding of how the world operates. To become a global citizen, you
must be informed of societal issues and assist or participate in their resolution. Since the
future of humanity is in their hands, younger generations should be more likely to be
global citizens. Being a global citizen means taking responsibility for not only your own
behavior, but for the whole world as well.

Citizenship refers to a person's affiliation with a specific community based on

shared characteristics. Preservation of human rights and human rights rights is the most
valuable concept of global citizenship. "Valuing the Earth as sacred and special, and
safeguarding the future for those who come after us" is what global citizenship entails.
Understanding the need to address poverty and inequality, as well as having the
willingness and ability to work actively to do so, is what 'economic citizenship' entails.
It's all about making the planet a more just, peaceful, compassionate, inclusive, safe,
and prosperous place to live.
2. Is there really a global citizen? Support your answer.
Every person must work for a living in order to provide for himself and his family a life
worthy of human dignity. No one may be deprived of their life, liberty, or property without
due process of law, and no one shall be denied equal protection under the law. Workers'
rights to self-organization, collective bargaining, tenure protections, and just and humane
working conditions must all be protected by the state. The Philippines rejects war as a tool
of national policy, accepts internationally recognized values as part of domestic law, and
pursues a policy of peace, equality, justice, democracy, cooperation, and amity with all
nations.
A global citizen is anyone who considers themselves to be a member of an evolving
global culture. According to The Global Citizens' Initiative, humans have often built societies
focused on common identity. We recognize that, as a result of living in a globalized world,
we bear an additional level of obligation. According to the initiative, the main challenge is to
accept our global way of life and create a sustainable values-based world culture. Human
rights, environmental justice, religious pluralism, gender equality, inclusive global economic
development, poverty alleviation, and conflict prevention are among the principles that
world leaders have been promoting over the past  years.
What matters most is your desire and willingness to become a global citizen,
regardless of your nationality or ethnicity. Find your passion and be constantly inspired by
the diversity of countries and cultures. Enroll in a global course to gain a global perspective.
To keep up with current events, read magazines with a global perspective. To strengthen
your relations with people from all over the world, travel abroad and make friends, and plan
programs and activities to demonstrate your leadership abilities. For more details, go here.

3. If you are a global citizen, does it mean you will lose your local citizenship?

Being a global citizen does not require you to give up any of your existing citizenship
identities, such as your nation citizenship or your allegiance to your local community,
religious, or ethnic group. To achieve long-term shift, we must "think globally and act
locally." We partner with schools to assist students in creating UN Sustainable Development
Goals campaigns. Being a global citizen does not necessitate the loss of one's national
identity. It is enriching it with the pleasures and obligations that come with becoming a
global citizen. Every one of us, regardless of age, has the potential to become global
citizens. You are a 'global citizen' if you participate in a community garden and contribute to
biodiversity in your region. You are a "global citizen" if you complete a two-minute beach
clean.
